<br />An Ordinance amending an Ordinance
<br />entitled, "Ordinance No. 216, An Ordin-
<br />ance Prohibiting The Sale, Gift, Stor-
<br />age, 3fanufacture, Transportation, Un-
<br />lawful Possession, Importation or Ex-
<br />portation of Intoxicating Liquors for
<br />Bevoraee Purposes; Regulating all Oth-
<br />er Tratiic In Such Liquors; and Provid-
<br />Ing Penalties for Violation Horeof;"
<br />passedand adopted on the 1st day of
<br />1.
<br />The Board of Trustees of the Town of
<br />Redwood City- do ordain as follows, to-
<br />wlt:
<br />Section 1, Section 2 Of an Ordinance
<br />of the Town of Redwood City, entitled,
<br />"Ordinance No. 216, An Ordinance pro-
<br />hibiting the sale, gift, storage, manu-
<br />facture, transportation, unlawful pos-
<br />session. Importation or exportation of
<br />Intoxicating liquors for beverage pur-
<br />poses, regulating all other triflic in
<br />such liquors; and providing penalties
<br />for violation hereof," passed and adop-
<br />ted by the Board of Trustees of said
<br />Town on the 1st day of August, 1921,
<br />Is hereby amended to read as follows,
<br />t0 -wit:
<br />Section 2. It shall be unlawful for
<br />any person within the Town of Red-
<br />wood City- to manufacture, have, keep,
<br />store, sell, give, barter, transport, Im-
<br />port, export, deliver, furnish possess or
<br />have In his possession any Intoxicating
<br />liquor for beverage purposes, except as
<br />authorized In this Ordinance.
<br />Liquor for non -beverage purposes and
<br />wine for sacramental purposes may be
<br />manufactured, purchased, sold, barter-
<br />ed, transported, Imported, exported, de-
<br />livered, furnished and possessed within
<br />the Town of Redwood City, but only
<br />by a person holding a valid permit from
<br />the United States Internal Revenue De-
<br />partment. and only hn accordance with
<br />the laws of the United States: Provid-
<br />ed nothing In this Ordinance shall pro -
<br />Whit the ,purchase and sale of ware-
<br />house receipts covering distilled spirits
<br />on deposit In Government headed ware-
<br />houses, and no special tax liability shall
<br />attach to the business of purchasing
<br />and selling such warehouse receipts.
<br />Section 2. This Ordinance is
<br />urgent -lm
<br />required for the Immediate preserva-
<br />tion of the public health, pence and
<br />safety of the people of the Town. of
<br />Redwood City, by reason of the fact
<br />that intoxidating liquor Is being (Iis-
<br />pense(l. sold and given away In the
<br />said Town, and there Is no adequate
<br />means of .preventing the same; thq
<br />public health of the citizens is in peril;
<br />the public peace and safety Is-endang-
<br />Bred and cannot be protectod, and this
<br />Is an emergency Ordinance, and shall be
<br />In full force and effect immediately up-
<br />on its final passage and approval.
<br />Section 3. This Ordinance shall be
<br />published once in the Redwood City
<br />Standard, a weekly newspaper pub-
<br />lished, printed and circulated in said
<br />Town of Redwood City and shall take
<br />effect and be in force from and after
<br />Its passage and approval.
<br />Introduced ,this 21st clay of Novem-
<br />her, 1921.
<br />Passed and adopted as an Ordinance
<br />of the Town of Redwood City by the
<br />Board, of Trustees of said Town at a
<br />regular meeting of said Board held on '
<br />the 6lh day of December, 1021, by the
<br />following vote:
<br />Ayes and in favor of the pnssage of
<br />the foregoing ordinance, Trustees,
