<br />Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Trustees;- President G.W.McNulty,Carl X.Mab e.,A,E.
<br />tlonteith,H.A.Beeger,n4.E.Ryan*Absent City Clerk W.A.Price,
<br />Moved by Trustee Ryan,seconded by Trustee Mabie and carried reading of minutes of
<br />July 2nd.I923 be dispended with until next meeting .
<br />In the absence of City Clerk VI.A.Price,Trustee H.A.Beeger was appointed by the.Board
<br />Clerk pro -tem.
<br />Attorney Lee T.Ross presented to the Board a petition signed by 144 qualified voters
<br />of the Town. of Redwood City asking that .pertain parcel .of land located in the uninhabited
<br />territory be taken out of City limits at the request of Idr.Ross the petition was ,filed,,
<br />The petitio3l was sworn to by Constable Martin Walsh stating that all signers were
<br />registered voters and contained names of not less than IOo of the regular voters at last
<br />general election,IToved by Trustee Iuabie,seconded by Trustee Ryan and carried the following
<br />petition be received and filed'.
<br />PETITION TO EXCLUDE UNINHABITED TERRITORY
<br />FROM THE TOW1T OF REDWOOD CITY.
<br />To the Honorable the Board of Trustees
<br />of the Town of Redwood City;
<br />Now come the undersigned petitioners, and hereby respectfully represent
<br />unto and petition your Honorable Board as follows;
<br />That each and every one of the undersigned are residents and qualified
<br />electors of the Town of Redwood 'City, a municipal corporati_on,situate in the county of
<br />San Mateo,State of California.
<br />That the following described uninhabited territory now situate within the
<br />boundaries of the Town of Redwood City,a municipal corporhtionjL be excluded therefrom,
<br />to -wit; .
<br />All the following territory and parcel of land situate,lying'an'ff being
<br />in the town of Redwood City, county of San Mateo, state of California, and particularly
<br />described as d'ollows,to-wit; k
<br />A strip of land one hundred feet in width,the center line of which follows
<br />the center line of the main railroad track of the Redwood City Harbor Company and is more
<br />particularly described as follows; -
<br />Beginning at a point on the north line of the lands of the Spring Valley
<br />Water Company conveyed to said company by the 'Leslie `'alt Company by deed recorded in the
<br />office of the county recorder of the county of San 11ateo,state of Californi.a,IAay Igth.1905,
<br />in Volume 125 of Deeds at apage 187,which said point of beginning is atr the intersection
<br />of said north line of the lands of the Spring Valley Water Company w]:th".the center line
<br />of said railroad track and is distant along said north line of said Spring Valley Water
<br />Company lands north 860 5rO1 east 98.5 feet from the southeast corner of the lands of the
<br />Frank Tanning Compan;r,thence from said point of beginning and following the center line of
<br />the railroad track of the Redwood City Harbor Company an a 70 30' curve to the left a tan-
<br />gent to which at the point of beginning bears north 500 331 east•647.7 feet to the end of
<br />said curve;thence along tangent north Io 581 east 26§0.6 feet, and thence north 17001'
<br />east 24.24.I feet tb the center of the slough forming the boundary between the lands of tba
<br />Leslie Salt Comiany and the lands of the Redwood City Habbor Company, and containing 20.93
<br />acres of land,more or less.
<br />Also all the following territory and parcel of land,being contiguous to the
<br />first parcel of land herein described, and situate;itiying and being in the Town of Redwood
<br />City,county of San Mateo,State of California, and particularly described as follows,to-wit;
<br />A strip of land eighty feet in width, the cneter line of which follows the
<br />cneter line of the main railroad track of the Redwood City Harbor Company and is more
<br />particularly described as follows;
<br />Beginning air the most northerly point of the center line of the tract of land
<br />firstly described herein,same being the center line of the main railroad track of the Red-
<br />wood Harbor Company at the center line of the Slough forming the boundary line between
<br />the lands of the Leslie Salt Company and the lands of the Redwood Cit Harbor Company;
<br />thencenorth 14 0 261 east 986.1 feet; thence on a 20 curve to the right 325 feet; thence
<br />north 200 441 east 2207.4 feat; thence on 30 curve to the right 800 feet to a point of
<br />compound curvature; thence leaving said center line of said mai4 raiload track north 470
<br />33' 76.6 feet; thence north 23 0 131 east 432.4 feet; thence north 346301 east j70 feet
<br />to a point on the southwesterly line of the I0 acre tract of land conveyed by deed from
<br />the Redwood City Harbor Company to W.J.Hotchkiss,recorded in the office of the count
<br />recoalder of the county of San ISateo,state of California,July 20th.1917,in Volume 2b6yof
<br />Deeds g* page 120 which point is distant north 56 0 50' west 40 feet from the most South-
<br />erly corner of said IO acre tract.
