<br />and place designated by said Board of Superbisors when and where objections to said ex-
<br />clusion and to said petition would be heard, and. said Board of Supervisors thereupon duly
<br />considered the same; and
<br />MERMS,no person or persons then or at any time appeared before said Board of
<br />Supervisors to object to said exclusion of said uninhabited territory from said Town of
<br />Redwood City, and no objection.ti^ras then or ever made, and no written or other remonstrance
<br />or protestation to the exclusion of said uninhabited territory, or any part thereof,from
<br />the boundaries of said Tovm of Redwood City,was then or ever filed with said Board of
<br />Supervisors; .nd
<br />CJi MMS,said Board of Supervisors did then and there resolve,declare,astertain and
<br />determine that no person owning any of said land or territory sought to be excluded 'rom
<br />the boundaries of the Town of Redwo.ld City,a municipal corporation,had or has objected torp
<br />or did or does object to,said exclusion, and that no remonstrance or protestation, written
<br />or othervrise,had of has been filed with or made to said Board of Supervisors. and
<br />.lHERE?S,said Board of Supervisors did then and there duly pass and adept resolution
<br />whereby it did consent to the oexclusion from the boundaries and limits of the Town of
<br />Redwood City,a municipal corporation, of the -uninhabited territory above referred to,and
<br />which is hereinafter particularly described, a,nd directed its clerk to give notice thereof
<br />to the legislative branch of said Town of Redwood Citg,to-wit, its Board of Trustees,by
<br />transmitting to said Board of Trustees of said Town of Redwood City a certified copy of
<br />said resolution and order; and
<br />;9HERE^S, thereafter said clerk of said Board of Supervisors did notify the: Bard of
<br />Trustees of said Tovm of Redwood Ci.t,r of such consent of said Beard of Supervisors of
<br />the County of San Idateo,State of California, to the exclusion from the boundaries and
<br />limits of the Town of Redwood City,a municipal eprporation, of said uninhabited territory
<br />and did transmit to said Board of Trustees a certified copy of said Resolution and order
<br />of said Board of Supervisors, which notification was regularly received by said Board of
<br />Trustees of said Town of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, In the 17th.day of September,192.3,there was regularly presented to and
<br />intr6duced before said Board of Trustees of said Town of Redwood City an ordinance calling
<br />a special election to be held in said Toon of Redwood City on the 16th.day of October,1923,
<br />for the purpose of submitting, and submitting to the qualified voters of said town the
<br />question of excluding certain uninhabited territory from the boundaries and limits of the
<br />Town of Redwood City, and certain propositions to incur a bonded indebedness to pay the
<br />cost of certain municipal improvements, and -hich said prdinance and resolution was thereaft
<br />after and on the 24th. day of September,1923,duly passed a.d adopted by the Board Ce
<br />Trustees of said Town of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, said Board of Trustees in and by said ordinance appo nted qualified officers
<br />of said election as prescribed by law, and did order due notice of such special election
<br />to be published and given for the time and in the manner provided by law, and did establish
<br />and in aid notic of elction designate the voting precincts and the places at which the
<br />polls would be open in said municipal corporation,which notice distinctly and in due form
<br />stated the propositions to be submitted, and specifically described the boundaries of the
<br />uninhabited territory sought to be excluded from the boundaries and limuts of said Town
<br />of Redwood City, thereby describing the same in such manner as to appraise the voters of
<br />the particular land sought to be excluded, and invited the qualified eldetors of said
<br />Town of Redwood City to vote upon such proposition by marking their ballots" ForExclusion"
<br />or "AMINST EXCLUSION"; and
<br />NHEREaS,notice of such eh ction was duly published and given as rerqu.ired by law and
<br />the order of t is Board, and said special election was held in accordance with law on
<br />Tuesday the 16th.day of October,1923, the same being the date for which said election was
<br />called by this Board, and the judges,inspectors and clerks of said election did immediately
<br />upon the closing of the polls count the ballots and made up and certified the. returns of
<br />the ballots cast at the polling pleas in the manner provided by law, and deposited all said
<br />returns with the clerk of said Town of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, this is the time provided for a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of
<br />said Town of Redwood City next after the said returns were filed with the clerk of said
<br />town as hereinabove recited, and said Board of Trustees is now open and -regular session
<br />and has proceeded to open,canvass and declare, and has bpened and canvassed said returns
<br />of said special election, and has examined all the matters and things it regard to the
<br />calling,notice,holding and conducting of said special election;
<br />NOW TEEREDORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood :;ity;
<br />SECTION I- That this Board of Trustees finds and hereby determines that due and
<br />regular notice of such special election was published and given as required by lav' and the
<br />order of this Board, and that such special election was duly and regularly held and conduct
<br />ed on the 16th.day of October,19239in accordance vrith law and the order of this board call@
<br />ing said special election, and that the judges,inspectors and clerks of such special election
<br />did immediately upon the closing of the polls,count theballots,make up and certify tha
<br />returns of the ballots cast at the designated polling places, ..nd deposit all of said returns
<br />in the manner provided by law with the clerk of said Town of Redwood City; that this 22nd.
<br />day of October,1923,being the time of the next regular meeting of said Board of Trustees
<br />after the filing of said returns with aid clerk as aforesaid, is the time fixed by law for
<br />this Board of Trustees to open,canvass and declare said returns.
