<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen Mayor A.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D.R.STA-

<br />Minutes of July 16th and July 30th, 1928, were read and on motion of Councilman Thorr-
<br />Lng,°seconded by Councilman Stafford same be approved as read. Motion carried.
<br />Application of Al Markgraf for a permit to hold dances in Forsters Hall, on Wednesda,*
<br />evemmngs August, 1, 89 159 229 M 29, also Saturdays evenings August 4, 119 18, and 25th
<br />1928, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford said permits
<br />be granted. Motion carried,
<br />Application of the Dumbarton Bridge Co, through Mr Eli H. Wiel of Atherton Chairman
<br />of the Road Committee asking the Council for permission to erect a sign on the west Sid(
<br />of the Highway opposite and slightly south of Moor's service'Station, was on motion of
<br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thorning said prmit be granted with the un-
<br />derstanding said permit be revokable at the pleasure of the Council. Motion carried.
<br />A report from Fire Chief Ryan submitting to the Council covering the fire hydrants
<br />in need of repair, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thorning
<br />said report be referred to the Water Department, Motion carried,
<br />Report of the Planning Commission recommending the Map of Lexington Park, was on
<br />motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, same be'aacepted by the
<br />Council, Motion carried.
<br />Councilman McNultyoffers Ordinance No. 284, CAN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE
<br />ENTITLED "ORDINANCE NO. 251,AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND ESTABLISHING THE LOCATION OF
<br />TRADES, BUSINESSES, INDUSTRIES AND BUILDINGS, & ETC.) and moves its introduction,
<br />Councilman Stafford seconds the motion. Motion carried,
<br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning the City Engineer II■i
<br />be instructed to p-trpare a new map of the City, giving streets and etc.Motion carried,
<br />On motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Clerk be
<br />instructed to write Hare, Brewer & Clark, also Mr J.W.Munday requesting to construct a
<br />fence on there property situated on Broadway for the reason it makes an unsightly app-
<br />earence. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford the City Engineer
<br />be instructed to prepare Plans and Specifications for the extension of Broadway from
<br />M9,ftn Street to Chestnut Street, Motion carried.
<br />The reports of Chief of Police, Building. Plumbing, and Electric Inspector and
<br />Poundman, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford, said
<br />reports be received and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thorning the claims O.Kecl
<br />and passed on by the Finance Committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the respect-
<br />ful for payment of same. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Thorning seconded by Councilman McNulty we do now adjourn to
<br />Monday August 18, 1928, at 10 o'clock, A.M. Motion carried.
