1 <br />1 <br />Redwood City October 1., 1928, 7.30, P:M: <br />Regular meeting of the City Council held. <br />m Upon roll call there were present Councilmen Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D.R. <br />Stafford, G.W.MeNulty, E.M.Dearborn, City Clerk, W.A.Priee. <br />Minutes of meetings held Aug 20th, Sept 4th, and Sept 17th, 1928, were read and on <br />motion of Councilman Dearborn seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be approved as read. <br />Motion carried. <br />The following application for ±J= dances was on motion of Councilman Thorning, <br />seconded by Councilman Stafford and carried be granted, to -wit: <br />The Oak ISnoll Improvement Club in the Parish House on Clinton St, October 6th, 1928, <br />until 12 o'clock. <br />The Greater Redwood City Improvement Assn in their. Club room October 20th, 1928. <br />The Redwood City Promotion Assn in the Parish House on Clinton Street, Saturday eve <br />October 13th, 1928. <br />Two petetions were presented to the Council containing the names of 31 property <br />owners requesting the Council to take the proper proceedings as may be necessary and <br />proper in widening of Braodway and Main Street by cutting of three or four feet of the <br />sidewalk on both side of tky. said streets from the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of- <br />way to Main Street, and upon on Main Street from the entersection with Broadway to the <br />intersection of Maple Street was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Council- <br />man McNulty said potation be receive and filed and the City Engineer be instructed to <br />prepare Plans and Specifications in accordance to the petetion. Motion carried. <br />Communication from the City and County of San Francisco acknowledging the reo- <br />eiving a notice of Filling of Street Assessment and time fixed for hearing thereon, <br />was on motion of Councilman Dearborn seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be received <br />for future reference. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Staffordthe deed of John <br />Rosha Lopes and Mary Rocha Lopes and also the County of San Mateo, State of California, <br />the deeds be excepted according to the City Attorney, and said doedsxbe recorded. <br />Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty the Supt of,',=..Water <br />be authorized the water of the City tested by Mr Lawrence H. Cook, Chemist, at the sum <br />of $30.00 per quarter. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning the City Attorny <br />be instructed to look into the matter of changing of the Library site. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Dearborn the audit, of <br />of the City <br />accounts/be given to Haskins and Sells for the coming year. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Counci4lman Dearborn, Treasurer and <br />Tax Collector B.E.blyers, be given a leave of absent to leave the State. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Dearborn the reeommenda- <br />cw <br />tions and rules of Fire Chief Ryan and his assisstan�s by excepted. by the City Council, <br />Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford, the sum of <br />0250.00 be allowed Chief M.E.Ryan of the Fire Dept, to pay his expenses to the Pacific <br />Coast and National Conventions of Fire Chiefs, Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the City Attorne; <br />be instructed to draw up a new Building Ordinance covering the question before the Cou <br />ncil. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn the clerk be <br />authorized to verity to the signatures of the signers on the petetion presented to the <br />Council in regards to a now Charter for the City.
