<br />RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. I-5.
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City did in open session on the
<br />21st day of June, 1926, publicly open, examined and declare all sealed proposals or bids
<br />for doing the following work and making the following improvements in said Town; to -wit;
<br />That Woodsworth Avenue com-
<br />mencing at a point 25 feet north-
<br />westerly from the northwesterly
<br />line of Whipple Avenue and ex-
<br />tending northwesterly to a point
<br />1161.98 feet from the northwest-
<br />erly line of Whipple Avenue;
<br />Turnsworth Avenue beginning at
<br />a point 25 feet northwesterly from
<br />the northwesterly line of Whipple
<br />Avenue and extending to a point
<br />1059.90 feet northwesterly from
<br />the northwesterly line of Whipple
<br />Avenue; Copley Avenue beginning
<br />at a point 25 feet northwesterly
<br />from the northwesterly line of
<br />Whipple Avenue and extending to
<br />Durlston Road: Arlington Road

<br />tions thereof within the lines of
<br />the above described streets and
<br />avenues be Improved as follows,
<br />to -wit:
<br />That the roadways -Of said
<br />streets, avenues, roads and boule-
<br />vards above described be graded
<br />and paved with a five (5) inch
<br />cement concrete pavement.
<br />That hydraulic cement concrete
<br />curbs be constructed on both
<br />sides of all the hereinbefore men.
<br />tioned and described streets and
<br />avenues that are to be paved,
<br />said curbs to be six (6) inches
<br />across the top and eleven (11)
<br />inches deep and to be constructed
<br />at the same time as the pavement
<br />so that there shall be no joint be.

<br />said hydraulic cement concrete
<br />curbs shall also be constructed on
<br />all corners of intersecting and
<br />terminating streets, roads, ave-
<br />nues and boulevards hereinbe.

<br />be constructed on the southwest-
<br />erly side of Melrose Place com-
<br />niencing at a point 42.85 feet
<br />easterly from the intersection of
<br />the southwesterly curb line of
<br />Melrose Place and the northwest-
<br />erly line of lot 9 in Block 9 as
<br />shown on the Map of Edgewood
<br />Park of record in the Recorder's
<br />office of the County of San Ma-
<br />teo, State of California, in Map
<br />Boole 12 at pages 41 and 42, and
<br />extending to Arlington Road; said
<br />hydraulic cement concrete curbs
<br />herein ordered constructed shall
<br />be constructed at the locations, to
<br />the grades, of the dimensions and
<br />materials and in the manner as
<br />shown on the plans, profiles and
<br />specifications hereinafter referred
<br />to herein.
<br />Said hydraulic cement concrete
<br />curb shall also be constructed
<br />around the four small parks situ-
<br />ated on Blandford Boulevard.
<br />That hydraulic cement concrete
<br />sidewalks be constructed on both
<br />sides of all the hereinbefore
<br />mentioned and described streets,
<br />avenues, roads and boulevards
<br />that are to be paved, said side-
<br />walks to be five (5) feet wide
<br />and four (4) inches thick; that
<br />said hydraulic cement concrete
<br />sidewalks also be constructed bn
<br />the northwesterly side of Whip-
<br />ple avenue from the southwester-
<br />ly limits of the Town of Red-
<br />wood City northerly to a point
<br />75 feet southwesterly from the
<br />southwesterly line of Woodstock
<br />Place; and also that said by-
<br />dranlic cement concrete sidewalks
<br />be constructed on the easterly
<br />side of Edgewood Road from the
<br />southwesterly limits of the Town
<br />of Redwood City to Blandford
<br />Boulevard; and also that said hy-
<br />draulic cement concrete sidewalk
<br />be constructed on the southwest-
<br />erly side of Melrose Place from
<br />a point 42.85 feet easterly from
<br />the intersection of the southwest-
<br />erly line of Melrose Place and the
<br />northwesterly line of Lot 9 in
<br />Block 9 as shown on the Map of
<br />Edgewood Park of record in the
<br />Recorder's office of the County
<br />of San Mateo, State of Califor-
<br />nia, in Map Book 12 at pages 41
<br />and 42, and extending to Arling-
<br />ton Road; said hydraulic cement
<br />concrete sidewalks shall also be
<br />constructed on all corners of in.
<br />tersecting and terminating streets,
<br />avenues, roads and boulevards
<br />hereinbefore mentioned and de-
<br />scribed that are to be paved;
<br />said hydraulic cement concrete
<br />sidewalks herein ordered con-
<br />structed shall be constructed at
<br />the locations, to the grades, of
<br />the dimensions and materials and
<br />In the manner shown on the
<br />plans, profiles and specifications
<br />hereinafter referred to herein.
<br />The width of the streets, ave-
<br />nues, roads and boulevards above
<br />described and the width of the
<br />roadways of said streets, ave-
<br />nues, roads and boulevards and
<br />the width of the sidewalks of
<br />said streets, avenues, roads and
<br />boulevards are to be and are as
<br />shown on the plans, profiles and
<br />specifications hereinafter particu-
<br />larly referred to herein.
<br />That the official elevations for
<br />the street grades of said streets,
<br />avenues, roads and boulevards
<br />and portions thereof, crown
<br />grades, curb grades and grade
<br />elevations for top of gutters be
<br />changed and, grades different
<br />from those established or adopted
<br />prior to the adoption by the Board
<br />of Trustees of said "Town of Red-
<br />wood City. of the plans, prdfiles
<br />and specifications hereinafter re-
<br />ferred to herein shall be adopted,
<br />and such official, different and
<br />priorgrades shall be modified
<br />and are hereby modified and
<br />changed so that the officialgrades
<br />shall 'be and conform to the
<br />grades as shown on the plans,
<br />profiles and specifications for said
<br />work and Improvement, which
<br />plans, profiles and specifications
<br />were heretofore adopted by
<br />the Board of Trustees of the
<br />Town of Redwood City on the
<br />17th day of May, 1926, by "Reso-
<br />lution Adopting Plans and Specifi-
<br />cations No. I.5;' which plans,
<br />profiles and' specifications are
<br />now on file in the office of the
<br />Clerk of said Town of Redwood
<br />City. All the work and improve-
<br />ments herein described shall be
<br />done and made to such new of-
<br />ficial grades as shown on the
<br />plans, "profiles and specifications
<br />herelnbefore mentioned, to which
<br />plans, profiles and specifications
<br />reference is hereby made for a
<br />description of the grades at
<br />which said work is to be done
<br />and said improvements made and
<br />the same are made a part hereof.
<br />All the hereinbefore and here-
<br />Inabove mentioned and described
<br />work and improvements are to be
<br />done in accordance with the spe-
<br />cial plans, profiles and specifica-
<br />tions hereinbefore herein men-
<br />tioned, which plana, profiles and
<br />specifications are now on file in
<br />the office of the Clerk of the
<br />Town of Redwood City, and to
<br />which plans, profiles and specifi-
<br />cations reference is hereby made
<br />for an accurate, detailed and com-
<br />plete description and location of
<br />said work and improvements, and
<br />the same are made a part hereof.
<br />And the Board of Trustees of
<br />the Town of Redwood City does
<br />hereby determine and declarethat
<br />the foregoing described work and
<br />improvements are of more than
<br />local or ordinary public benefit
<br />and will affect and benefit the
<br />lands and district hereinafter de.
<br />scribed, which said district is
<br />hereby declared to be the district
<br />benefitted by said work and im-
<br />provement; and therefore the en-
<br />tire costs ,and expenses of said
<br />work and improvements shall be
<br />and are hereby made chargeable
<br />against and shall be ,assessed
<br />upon said lands and district,
<br />which district is within the limits
<br />of the Town of Redwood City,
<br />County of San Mateo, State of
<br />California, and the said district is
<br />described and shown on a certain
<br />map or plat entitled "Map Show-

<br />Resolution of Intention No. I-5;'
<br />which map or plat is now on file
<br />In the office of the Clerk of the
<br />Town of Redwood City, and to I

<br />of said assessment district, and,l
<br />the same is 'made a part hereof.
<br />NOTICE is hereby given that
<br />serial bonds to represent unpaid
<br />assessments and bear interest at
<br />the rate of seven (7%) per cent
<br />per annum will be issued here-
<br />under In the manner provided ,by
<br />the Improvement Bond Act of
<br />1915, the last installment of which
<br />bonds shall mature and be' pay-
<br />able nine (9) years from the sec-
<br />ond day of July next succeeding
<br />ten (10) months from their date.
<br />Except as hereinabove. other-
<br />wise provided for the issuance of .
<br />serial bonds all the herein pro- ,
<br />posed work and Improvements,
<br />shall be done in pursuance. of and
<br />in conformity with an act of the
