<br />Regular meeting of the City Council held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D.R.Staf-
<br />ford, G.W.Tdcldulty, E.TII.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Price.
<br />Minutes of meeting held March 18, 1929, were read, and on motion of Councilman McNulty,
<br />seconded by Councilman Dearborn same be approved as read, Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Southern Pacific Company requesting the Council for permission to
<br />remove the crossing gates and flagman at the Brewster Avenue crossing and placing a wig -wag
<br />signal
<br />signal, also permission to remove the flagman a Spruce Street where a wig-wag/is already
<br />installed,also requesting the Council to pass an ordinance for the abandonment and vacation
<br />of portions of Charter Street, Willow Street, and Laurel Street, lying between the vacated
<br />portion of Chew Street, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty,
<br />said matter be referred to the Supt of Streets, Motion carried.

<br />Communication from the South Redwood Improvement Club a suggestion was offerred the City
<br />Council to cut a street though, connecting the Myrtle Street Fire House with South Redwood
<br />thereby saving time taken to reach this district with the fire apparatus, was on motion of
<br />Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be received and filed. Motion carried
<br />Communication from the California Real Estate Assn, regarding Real estate interestsof
<br />the City, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by 6ouncilman Stafford same be rec-
<br />eived and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Application of the Pacific Gas & Electric Cc to set 3 poles on the West side of Hudson
<br />Street as per Blue print No.1617-R, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Counc-
<br />ilman Dearborn said permit be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Pacific Gas & Electric Co asking the Council to change the zoning,
<br />of the property facing Rogers Street 197 ft, bin east of the Southern Pacific Railroad, also
<br />fronting slightly over 26 ft on Arguello Street, from commercial to light industrial zone,
<br />was on motion of Councilman. Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty said communication be
<br />referred to the City Attorney, Tltotion carried.
<br />Communication from 1Jr E.11.11agruder in regards to having his propertysituated at the
<br />corner of Vera Ave and Clinton Street, legally zoned into the business district, also a
<br />communication from the Pacific Gas & Electric Co requesting permission to install a 20 inch
<br />pipe for the use natural gas through different streets of the City, was on motion of Council-
<br />man Stafford seconded by Councilman Dearborn both communication be referred to the Planning
<br />,omission. Motion carried.
<br />Application of the Pacific Gas & Electric Co, to replace a Redwood City pole on Brew-
<br />ster Ave at the East line of the State Highway, was on motion of Councilman Dearborn,
<br />secon-ded by Councilman McNulty, same be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from Assemblyman Harry L. Parkman, and State Senator George C. Cleve-
<br />land ackoowledging the letter sent to them in regards to Assemby consitiu.tion amendment,
<br />No. 2, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dearborn, said commun-
<br />icatinns be received and filed. P,Zotion carried.
<br />A Petition was received from two property owners asking the Council to start proceed-
<br />ings to improve Sierra Street between Redooil Ave and Oak Ave, also a petition from Five pro-
<br />perty owners asking the Council to start proceedings to improve Junipero Street between
