<br />Regular meeting of the City Council held.
<br />Upon%roll call there were present Councilman, Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D.R.
<br />Stafford, G.W.McNulty, B.M.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Price.
<br />Minutes of meeting held April 1st, 1929, were read and on motion of Councilman,
<br />morning, seconded by Councilman McNulty, said minutes be approved as read. Motion carried.
<br />�i Application of Southern Pacific Company which was referred to the Cha xThanonlflith.ee
<br />Street Committee and Supt of Streets of meeting held April let, 1929, regarding the removal
<br />on B. Brewster Ave and Spruce Street of the flagman; and placing wig-wagswas reported back
<br />ll with the recommendation they stay as they are (flagman), was on the motion of Councilman
<br />�I Rtaffoya, seconded by Councilman &1cNulty the report of the Street Committee be granted,
<br />Motion carried.
<br />Chairman Dearborn of the Street Committee reported favorably on the Application of the
<br />Southern Pacific Company in the matter of closing the crossings on Manzanita and Laurel str-
<br />eets, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty the recommenda-
<br />tion of the Chairman of the Street Committee be granted'in closing said streets.
<br />Motion carried.
<br />Report of the Planning Commission recommending to the Council the application of Mr
<br />r` Treichel to subdivide his lot on Fulton and Katherine Streets to make two lots one 70.X75'
<br />and the other 60X75', was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty
<br />said application be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Affidavit of James D. Hedge in the matter of publishing ordinance No. ?AL, calling
<br />a special election in the City (Town) of Redwood City for the 9th day of April, 1929, and

<br />in the matter publishing notice to the electors of the City (Town) of Redwood City that
<br />cppies of the proposed charter for said City (Town) may be had at the office of the Clerk
<br />fI of said City (Town), on application, and affidavit of Sam H. Winklebleck of notice of special
<br />! election to be held in the City (TOWN) of Redwood City on the 9th day of April, 19299 and
<br />p affidavit of publication of the proposed charter for said City (TOWN), and affidavit of
<br />publication of special election in said City (Town) of Redwood City, and affidavit of pub-
<br />lication of notice to the electors of the City (Town) of Redwood City that copies of the
<br />proposed charter may be had at the office of the City (Town) Clerk upon application, and
<br />affidavit of W.A.Price, City (Town) Clerk, in the matter of notification to election officers
<br />of their appointment, and in the matter of mailing sample ballots and precinct cards to the
<br />voters of said City (Town) of Redwood City with reference to the special election to be held
<br />_ therein on the 9th day of April, 1929, were on motion of Councilman McNulty seconded by
<br />Councilman Thorning, and carried, received and filed.
<br />This being the time fixed for canvassing the returns of the special election held in
<br />City (Town) of Redwood City on Tuesday, the 9th day of April, 1929, which election was held
<br />pursuant to notice of said election given duly and published as required by law, and the
<br />order of the Council of said City (Town) of Redwood City, the said Council of the City (Town)
<br />of Redwood City proceeded to examine the returns of said special election as delivered by the
<br />Clerk of said City (Town), and found the same properly sealed and in proper condition. The
<br />Council of the City (Town) of Redwood City proceeded to canvas said returns, and said Coun-
<br />cil having canvassed said returns in public by opening,said returns and estimating and com-
<br />puting the vote on each proposition voted upon at said special election, hereby declares the
<br />the result of said special election as follows, to-wi.t;
