Redwood City January 21, 19290 7.30, o7clock P.M. ?' <br />L <br />Regular meeting of the City Council held. <br />Upon roll call there were present Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning. D.R.Stafford, G.W. } <br />McNulty, E.M.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Price. <br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thorning, minutes of the meeting be <br />dispensed with until next regular meeting. Motion carried. <br />The map of Thos Nelson for the subdivision of Lot 40, Central Park, No. 2. was on motion <br />of Councilman Thorning seconded'by Councilman Stafford said map be approved by the Council. <br />i <br />Motion carried. i <br />s <br />Communication from the Planning Commission recommending the petition of Mr Harry C.Yates� <br />to build on lot: 19 in Block 2, Central Park, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Stafford said petition be granted. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty and carried the foll- <br />owing dance permit were granted, to -wit: <br />The Italian Chatholic federation in the Redwood City Womans Club House Feb 2nd, 1929, until 1. <br />The Redwood City Promotion Assn in the Womans Club House, Feb 9th, 1929, until 1 o'clock. <br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn Air CARL K. MABIE, be re- <br />appointed Trustee of the Pulgas Mosquito Abatement District. Motion carried. <br />Application of Lucia Ai. Hess to operate a Taxi Service in Redwood City, was on motion <br />of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn said application be granted.,Motion carried. <br />Application of Hilton J. Biegelfor a position on the Redwood City Fire Dept, was on motion <br />of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be received and filed.Motion carri <br />Councilman Dearborn offers Ordinance No. 292, (An Ordinance Repealing an Ordinance of th <br />Town of Redwood City Entitleed Ordinance No. 288, An Ordinance placing certain property in the <br />Town of Redwood City in the Light Indrustrial Zone.) and moves its introduction, Councilman <br />Thorning seconds the motion. Motion carried. <br />Communication fron the Redwood City Planning Commission at a special meeting held by said <br />Commission on January 21st, 1929, at 4.00 o'clock, P.M. did recommend that the following property <br />of Lot "A"of Perry Subdivision on Perry Street, <br />be re -zoned from"BUSINESS" to"Light Industrial//Also the Commission recomends that the applicat- <br />ion of Mr Butchman to change Lots 20-21-22 in Block 11 Central Park to front on James Street be <br />granted, was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be received <br />and filed. Motion carried. <br />Communication from P1Ir E.W.Magruder confirmimg his verbal promises in regards to his lumb- <br />er yards on Vera Ave and discontinue the conduct of same , was on motion of Councilman McNulty, <br />seconded by Councilman Stafford same be received and filed. Motion carried. <br />Communication and map from the Southern Pacific Company with request the City Council <br />give consideration to introduce a resolution to close Laurel and Willow Streets which have no <br />street value and being close to the Pratt -Low Preserving Companys Building was on motion of Coun-. <br />ilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be referred to the City Engineer, Motion <br />t <br />carried. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn the Mayor be authorized <br />to sign agreement with Edwards and Schary, Architects, for improvements to the City Hall.. <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilman Thorning offers the followin Ordinances and moves there Introduction.
