elected to frame a charter for the 'Town of Redwood City; and

<br />( WHEREAS, on the 7th day of rebruary,,19299 and within the time allowed by the constit-
<br />ution and laws of the State of California said board of freeholders filed in the office of the
<br />Clerk of said Town a proposed charter for said Town; and
<br />WHEREAS, said board of freeholders did fix the 9th day of April, 1929, as the date for
<br />G
<br />holding the election on the ratification of said charter; and
<br />i
<br />WHEREAS, said election was duly and regularly and legally held on said 9th day of April,
<br />1929, on the ratification of sai proposed charter; and
<br />WHEREAS, the votes given and caS*t at said election was duly and regularly and legally
<br />canvased, and
<br />WHEREAS, a majority of the voters voting at said election voted in favor of the ratif-
<br />ication of sai chater, and said charter was duly ratified as required by law by the voters
<br />of said Town, and
<br />WHEREAS, on the 18th day of April, 1929, said charter- was duly ratified and approved by
<br />Legislature of the State of California and thereupon bacome the law of said Town; and
<br />WHEREAS, said charter increases the number of Councilmen of said Town from five to seven
<br />and provides that an election be held in said Town on the 8th Tuesday after the ratification
<br />of said charter by the Legislature of the State of California; and
<br />WHEREAS, June the 11th, 1929 is the 8th Tuesday after the 18th day of April, 1929, the
<br />date when said charter was batified by the Legisture of the State of California:
<br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Redwood City that under and pursuant to the
<br />provisions of said charter a special municipal election be held in said Town of Redwood City
<br />on the 11th day of June, 1929, for the purpose of electing two additional members of the Coun-
<br />cil of said Town, and also that said special munl6ipal election be and the same is hereby
<br />consalidated with a special election called and to be held in said Town of Redwood City for
<br />the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said Town the following proposition to
<br />incur bonded indebtedness, to -wit:
<br />(a) The proposition to incur a bonded undebtedness of Sixty-five Thousand (•65.000)
<br />Dollars; gold coin of the United States of America, for the object and purpose of paying the
<br />cost of the acquisition, constometion and completion of a new City -Hall for said Town of Red-,
<br />wood City, together with the furnishing thereof.to be situated upon the propertyat the corner
<br />of Webster and Washington Streets in the Town of Redwood City adjacent to the present City
<br />Hall,
<br />AND BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of said Town take all the necassary and
<br />proper steps as required by the laws of the State of California and ordinances of the Town
<br />of Redwood City for the purpose of providing for the carrying into affect said elections.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the Town of Redwood City at a regular adjourned
<br />meeting thereof held on the 13th day of May, 1929, by the following vote:
