<br />Regular meeting of the City Council held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Ihorning, D.R.
<br />Stafford, G.W.I.IclTulty, "I.J.Dusel, P.A.McCarthy, City Clerk "J.A.Price. ^
<br />Absent, Councilman, E.M.Dearborn.
<br />Minutes of meeting held July 1, 1929, were read, and on motion of Councilman
<br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Stafford same be approved as read. Motion carried.
<br />Affidavit of Dora C. Benning of the Tedwood City Tribune in the maj�ter of pub-
<br />lishing
<br />ub-
<br />lishing notice to contractors for harbor fill, was on motion of Councilman Thorning,seconed
<br />By Councilman McNulty said affidavit be received and filed, Motion carried.
<br />There being only one bid received from the Belle Haven Corp which was publicly
<br />open examined, and declared, to -wit:
<br />lGi per cubic yardmeasurement to be made 30 days after completion of fill, was on motion of
<br />Bouncilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, said bid be referred to the City Ma -
<br />ager, City Engineer, the Mayor, and Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee with full
<br />power to act. Motuon carried.
<br />Communication from the Redwood City Fire Dept offering the Civic Auditorium to
<br />the City Council as a meeting place was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by
<br />Councilman Thorning same be received and filed and the Fire Company be extented a vote
<br />of thanks, Motion carried.
<br />Application of Sam Gold for a junk peddlers licese for the Ciy of Redwood was
<br />on motion of Councilman Thorning,seconded by Councilman Stafford, said application be
<br />granted. Motion carried.
<br />A petition was received from Six resident property owners on Iris Street, bet-
<br />ween Vera Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue be paved with asphalitic concrete also curbs and
<br />gutters, was on motion of Comncilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman IIIcNulty, same be ref-
<br />erred to the Street Committee to be included the other street work. Motion carried.
<br />Application of Al Markgraf for dance permits in Foresters Hall Wednesday evening
<br />July 3, 109 17, 24, and 31, also Saturday evening July 6, 139 20, and 27, 1929, was on
<br />motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford, same be granted.Motio
<br />carried.
<br />The appointment of Justice of the Peace Edw I. McAuliffe Police judge of the
<br />City of Redwood City by City Manager Rolison was approved by the Councilm and on motion
<br />of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilmam'Stafford his salay be fixed at 075,00,
<br />and his bond placed at 01000.00.Idotion carried.
<br />The oath of office of Edw I. McAuliffe as police judge of the City of Redwood
<br />was on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty same be received
<br />and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Recommendation of the Planning Commission to the City Council the following
<br />lots be changed from the second residential district to the business district, io-wit:
<br />Dots 6 and 7 Blk 13, Sweeney Add, Lot 12 in Blk 14; Eastern Add, Dot 1 in Blk 1, Dots 1,
<br />2, 8, and in Blk 4, Dots 1, 29 8, and 9 in Blk 7, bots 1, 29 7, and 8, -in B1k10, and
<br />Lot 1, in Blk 13, Lenholt Add, Dot 6, in Blk 2, Dingee Park, was on motion of Councilman
<br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thoroning, said recommendation be received and filed.
<br />Motion carried.
