Redwood City, September 3, 1929 8o'clock P. 11. <br />I <br />Regular meeting of the City Council held. <br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen Mayor H. A. Beeger, Z. T. Thorning, C. W. <br />McNulty, W. J. Dusel. <br />i Absent Councilmen D. R. Stafford, P. A. McCarthy, City Clerk W. A. Price. '! <br />Councilman Thorning acted as Clerk Pro tem. <br />Moved by Councilman Thorning and seconded by Councilman Dusel, minutes of last meeting , r <br />be approved as read. Motion carried. <br />1Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty, C. J. Hildebrand be appoint- <br />ed Councilman for E. M. Dearborn's unexpired term. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the oath of office of <br />C. J. Hildebrand be received and filed. Motion carried. `1JI <br />The Pound question was discussed by the Council, <br />Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty the sum of $1000.00 be trans- <br />ferred from the garbage fund to the City Pound Fund. Motion carried. <br />i <br />Councilman McNulty offerred motion to leave matter to City Manager to make the necessary <br />inforcements at Pound. Dusel seconded the motion. Carried. j <br />Auto Camp was discussed at Woodside Road and E1 Camino Real at length and Council agreed <br />to give the property owners all help within their power. <br />Communication from -the Committee of the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce on basis of li- <br />cense Ordinance was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Thorning be rece- <br />ived and filed to be taken up in the near future. Motion carried. <br />�o**I <br />Councilman McNulty offers Ordinance No. An ordinance declaring all old building or <br />structures which are dilapidaged beyond repair or which are afire menace or a breeding place i <br />for rodents or a likely resort for vagrants or dissolute persons to be public nuisances and <br />providing for'the abatement of such nuisances, and creating the office of building inspector <br />and defining his duties.) and moves its introduction. Councilman Hildebrand seconds the mot- <br />ion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Thorning offers Ordiance No /(An ordinance prescribing the amount of bonds re- <br />quired from the various officials and employes of the City of Redwood City for the handling of <br />public money and the faithful performance of their various official duties.) and moves its,in- <br />troduction. Councilman seconds the motion. Motion carried. <br />Application of Court Madrone F. of A. for a dance permit in Vorester's Hall September 14, <br />1929, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty same be granted. <br />Motion carried. <br />Letter of appreciation from the Board of Library Trustees was on motion of Councilman <br />Thorning, seconded by C ouncilman McNulty same be received and filed. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Dusel,.seeonded by Counc..lman Hildebrand the City Manager be author- <br />ized to enter into an agreement with Harold J. Canine and wife for a lot situated in the Sweeney <br />' Ranch for the purpose of exploring for water. Motion carried. <br />i Communication from A+W. Grimenstein in regards to the placing of a side walk on ringer <br />Ave. was received and filed and referred to the City Manager to take up with Mr, Ebright owner <br />i <br />of the lot. Motion carried. <br />A petition from residents and property ovmers residing on Alden Warren and East Brewster <br />Streets to have the sanity of Mrs. John Caprella investagated, the matter, is being handled r <br />by the Police Department. <br />4 n <br />
