as said Commissioners could reasinable ascertain the same; that said report contained as 151 <br />assessment of the benefits and damages to all lots or portions of lots in said assessment <br />district, which district is described in said Resolution of Intention No. L-1 hereinbefore <br />referred to herein and to which reference is hereby iAade and the same is made a part hereof; <br />:,. <br />WHEREAS, said report, assessment and plat were filed in the office of the. Clerk of the <br />City of Redwood City on said 8th day of August, 1929; and <br />WHEREAS, said Clerk did give notice of the filing of said report, assessment and plat <br />in his office, as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Lora Benning, now on <br />file in the office of said Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, in and by said notice of the filing of said report, assessment and plat said <br />Clerk did fix Thursday the 12th day of September, 1929, at the hour of 5 o'clock P. M. of <br />said day, as the day, time and place on or before which all persons interested and objecting <br />to said report, assessment or plat could make their objections in writing as provided by law; <br />;.e <br />WHEREAS, within the time fixed in said notice and as allowed by law, certain owners of <br />property in the district to be assessed for said work and improvements made written objections <br />to the confirmation of said assessment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Clerk of said City did at the next regular meeting of the City Council after <br />the expiration of the time to file said written objections present to said Council all written <br />objections filed with him as required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, said Council of the City of Redwood City did thereupon upon the 15th day of <br />'September, 1929, pass and adopt a resolution setting said protests and objections for hearing <br />before said Council at its regular meeting, to -wit; October 7th, 1929, at the hour of 7:30 <br />o'clock P. Id. of said day in the Council Chamber in the City Hall on Webster Street in said <br />City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, the Clerk of said City did thdreupon as required by law duly notify the protest - <br />ants of the time place of hearing on their protests as appears from his affidavit now on file <br />in his office; and <br />WHEREAS, said Council of the City of Redwood City did regularly continue said hearing to <br />the 4th day of November, 1929, at 7:30 o'clock P. M; and <br />WHEREAS, said Council did proceed to hear and, consider all of said protests and object- <br />ions so filed as aforesaid and said Council having fully considered the same <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY that the protests <br />and objections hereinbefore referred to herein and made against•the confirmation of the ass- <br />essment and made under Resolution of Intentian No. L-1 and each thereof is hereby overruled, <br />and said report, assessment and plat heretofore filed as aforesaid is hereby confirmed, <br />approved and ratified. <br />And be it further resolved that improvements bonds may be issued to represent assessments <br />for the work done and improvements made under said Resolution of Intention No. L-•1 referred <br />to herein and as provided in that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California <br />entitled, "An Act providing for the issuance of improvement bonds to represent certain saecial <br />assessments for public improvements under the "Street Opening Act of 1889" and providing for <br />the effect and enforcement of such bondis" ,approved May 24, 1921, as amended and now in effect. <br />Said bonds can only be issued when an tassessment <br />
