1 <br />Redwood City Council Meeting 7:30 h. 1,i. November 18, 1929 <br />:Regular Council meering was held. Upon roll call, there were present, Councilmen: <br />Mayor H. A. Beeger, s. T. Thorning, G. Vt. McNulty, 0. J. Hildebrand, P. A. McCarthy. <br />Absent, Councilmen: D. R. Stafford, W. J. Dusel, City Clerk W. A. Price. <br />Upon motion of Councilmen McCarthy, seconded by Obuncilmen Hildebrand that Councilman <br />Thorning be elected Clerk pro -tem. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty that the minutes of <br />the last meeting held on November 4., 1929 be approved. (accepted instead of excepted to be <br />corrected.) Motion carried. <br />Mr. Doxsee appeared and requested a permit for a sign vertical 14 inches by 5 feet. <br />Councilmen Dusel and Stafford arrived at meeting. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, and seconded by Councilman Dusel that permit be <br />granted under supervision of building inspector. <br />153 <br />� <br />he Pound Ordinance was discussed. McCarthy moved that a committee of three be appoint- <br />ed to discuss Pound Ordinance with Humane Society and report to Council. Councilman McNulty <br />secon ed the motion. Mayor Beeger appointed a -Committee consisting of Councilmen Thorning, <br />McCarthy and McNulty. <br />Councilman Thorning,made a motion that resolution of appreciation for gift of I;-Irs. <br />Courtney be given. * Councilman McNulty seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman McNulty offers the following- Resolution and moves its adoption. Councilman <br />Stafford seconds the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION 110. L-6 <br />RESOLVED, that the public interest and public convenience require, and that it is the <br />intention of the Council of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of Calif. <br />ornia, to order the following work to be done in said City, to -wit: <br />That the following described portion of Broadway in said City of Redwood City be closed <br />and vacated as a public street and highway, to -wit: <br />Beginning at a point in the eaterly line of Main Street in the City of Redwood City, <br />California, distant thereon South 30 31' 30" East 85 feet from the intersection of the <br />Southerly line of Lot 20, Ivtain Street Lots, with the eaterly line of Main Street, as shown <br />on map of "Town of Meze..ville", recoreded August 1, 1856, in Book 1 of Maps at page 79, <br />Records of San Mateo County, State of California, said point being intersection of eaterly <br />line of Main Street and southerly line of Broadway; thence from said point of beginning on <br />and along the southerly line of Broadway. South 86o 28' 30" West 230.57 feet to the westerly <br />' line of Walnut Street; thence on and along said westerly line of Walnut Street extended in <br />a straight line across Broadway North 300 38' 30" West 2.00 feet; thence westerly parallel. <br />r <br />to the southerly line of Broadway North 860 28' 30" East 230.57 feet to the eaterly line of <br />Main Street; extended in a straight line across Broadway;'thence on and along said extension <br />of the eaterly line of Ieiain Street South 30 31' 30" East 2.00 feet to the point of beginning; <br />being a strip 2.00 feet in width parallel and adjacent to the southerly line of 3roadway <br />and northerly therefrom. <br />And said Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby determine and declare that it <br />is unneessary to take any lands for the work of closing said hereinbefore mentioned portion <br />Motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrand that 1p100.00 be donated <br />to Chamber of Commerce for Christmas decoration. Chamber of Commerce to raise and use at <br />lease ;x500.00 additional. <br />
