163 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL HELD <br />FEBRUARY 17, 1930. <br />7:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />Regular meeting of the City Council held. <br />Upon roll call there were present: Councilmen - Magor H. A. Beeger, D. R. Stafford, <br />W. J. Dusel, G. W. McNulty, C. J. Hildebrant, P. A. McCarthy, City Clerk <br />W. A. Price. <br />Absent: Councilman Z. T. Thorning. <br />Minutes of the meeting held February 3, 1930 -were approved as read, on motion of <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. Motion carried. <br />Moved b Councilman McCarthy, seconded b Councilman Dusel. the matter <br />y y, y , of the <br />closing of Hilton Street near Charter Street be laid over until next meeting. <br />Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Duse.l, the application of <br />B. Arata, for a permit to erect a gasoline service station at the corner of <br />Cedar Street and E1 Camino Real, be referred to the Planning Commission. <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilman McCarthy offers Ordinance No.$0 (An Ordinance. Consolidating the <br />Duties of the Offices of City Clerk and City Treasurer) and moves its <br />adoption. Councilman Stafford seconds the motion. Motion carried. <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing ordinance: <br />Councilmen: D.R.Stafford, W.J.Dusel, G.W.McNulty, C.J.Hildebrant, <br />P.A.McCarthy, Mayor H.A.Beeger. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing ordinance: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Absent:.Councilmen: Z. T. Thorninj� <br />Moved by .Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the <br />deeds prepared by the City Attorney for the purchase of a certain strip <br />of land and right of way in the matter of Minnie and George Streets be <br />I <br />p accepted by the Council. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Stafford offers Ordinance No.,2�0 (An Ordinance Calling a Special <br />I <br />Municipal Election)(See Ordinance Book No.3, Page `) and moves its <br />I <br />introduction. Councilman Dusel seconds the motion. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the <br />Superintendent of Streets be instructed to prepare a street assessment <br />i, <br />list of Lot 6, Block 2, Eagle Hill Subdivision. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant the City <br />Attorney be instructed to prepare the necessary contract and the City <br />Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the <br />installing of electroliers on Main Street from the Southern Pacific <br />Company's crossing to Five Points. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman McOarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel, that the <br />Ordinance presented to the Council by the Redwood City Carpenter's <br />Union requiring all building contractors to have a state license be <br />I laid over for four (4) weeks. Motion carried. <br />
