<br />specifications for city contracts,'but that we earnestly request
<br />the Board of City Trustees to do everything within their power
<br />to make effective the expressed desire of the business interests,
<br />and of citizens at large, that the product of the Pacific Portland
<br />Cement Company of Re&rood City; which is our largest local industry,
<br />be used in all future city construction wherein price and quality
<br />are on a par with competing outside products.
<br />Mr. Figel, of the Pacific Portland Cement Company, made an appeal, on behalf of the employees
<br />particularly, that the City make use of the product of this local industry and upon motion
<br />of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Board went on record as favoring
<br />as far as practicable the use of the local cement for City improvements.
<br />Considerable discussion was had concerning a map relating to the Bay Shore and western Pacific
<br />submitted by D. L. Walter.
<br />Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman MoNulty, offered the following resolutions and
<br />moved their adoptinn;
<br />1. RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, that the
<br />hereunto annexed release, dated the 24th day of April, 1930, and
<br />made betvreen The Equitable Trust Company of New York, a corporation,
<br />organized and existing -under the laws of the State of New York, (as
<br />Trustee under that certain mortgage or deed of trust executed by South-
<br />ern Pacific Railroad Company and its Lessee, Southern Pacific Company;
<br />dated January 3rd; 1905, being'known as the First Refunding Mortgage),
<br />first party, and the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation of the
<br />State of California, second party be and the same is hereby accepted
<br />by the City of Rechvood City, and the Clerk of this Council is hereby
<br />ordered to have the same recorded in the office'of the County Recorder
<br />of the County of San Mateo, State of California.
<br />I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and
<br />regularly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood
<br />City at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of May, 1930, by the
<br />following vote:

<br />a municipal corporation of the State 0 California, second party, be and
<br />the same is hereby accepted by the City'of Redwood City, and the Clerk
<br />of this Council is hereby ordered to have the same recorded in the
