0 RESOLVED, that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and making said im- provements tc'the lowest, regular, responsible bidder, to=wit: L. A. BACHELDER , at the prices named in his bid. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award twice in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper published, printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby desig- nated for that purpose by the Council of said City. Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at the hour of 9:15 o'clock P.M. at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day off day, 1930, by the following vote: Ayes and in favor of the passageof the foregoing resolution, Councilmen: H.A.Beeger, W.J.Dusel, C.J.Hildebrant, E.B.Hinman, G.W.McNulty, D.R.Stafford. STAFFORD Mayor of the City of Redwood City Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Clerk was instructed to return the checks of the unsuccessful bidders. A communication was received from J. J. McGrath asking that the Council give support to the project of a cross -county highway to Half Moon Bay and attached a resolution which he wished the Council to pass. Upon motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the folloting resolution was adopted with instructions that a letter be written indicating that the Redwood City Council would-lappreci.ate cooperation on the part of other communities for local cross -county arteries; RESOLUTION WHEREAS, motor traffic between San Mateo and Half Moon Bay is rapidly increasing (reports showing over a 50J increase since 1928); WHEREAS, this road is dangerous to travel and entirely inadequate to satisfactorily accommodate traffic increases; WHEREAS, the majority of this traffic originates outside San Mateo County and should be classified as State and not local travel; AND VMREAS, San Mateo County has already contributed heavily to the construction of highway arteries for through traffic, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this body endorses the move- ment for the reconstruction of this highway, recommends its adoption as part of a Cross State Highway System and agrees to actively assist in the presentationcf the project to the State Highway Commission.
