0 <br />RESOLVED, that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby <br />rejects all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned <br />and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and making said im- <br />provements tc'the lowest, regular, responsible bidder, to=wit: <br />L. A. BACHELDER , at the prices named in his bid. <br />The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this <br />award twice in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper published, <br />printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby desig- <br />nated for that purpose by the Council of said City. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />at the hour of 9:15 o'clock P.M. at a regular meeting thereof held <br />on the 19th day off day, 1930, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passageof the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: H.A.Beeger, W.J.Dusel, C.J.Hildebrant, E.B.Hinman, G.W.McNulty, <br />D.R.Stafford. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: NONE. <br />Absent, Councilmen: P. MYERS <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 19th day of May, <br />1930. <br />DANIEL R. STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Clerk was instructed to <br />return the checks of the unsuccessful bidders. <br />A communication was received from J. J. McGrath asking that the Council give support to the <br />project of a cross -county highway to Half Moon Bay and attached a resolution which he <br />wished the Council to pass. Upon motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant, the folloting resolution was adopted with instructions that a letter be <br />written indicating that the Redwood City Council would-lappreci.ate cooperation on the <br />part of other communities for local cross -county arteries; <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, motor traffic between San Mateo and Half Moon Bay is <br />rapidly increasing (reports showing over a 50J increase since 1928); <br />WHEREAS, this road is dangerous to travel and entirely inadequate <br />to satisfactorily accommodate traffic increases; <br />WHEREAS, the majority of this traffic originates outside San Mateo <br />County and should be classified as State and not local travel; <br />AND VMREAS, San Mateo County has already contributed heavily to <br />the construction of highway arteries for through traffic, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this body endorses the move- <br />ment for the reconstruction of this highway, recommends its adoption as <br />part of a Cross State Highway System and agrees to actively assist in the <br />presentationcf the project to the State Highway Commission. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at <br />a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of May, 1930, by the <br />following vote; <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution Council- <br />223 <br />
