Said cement concrete com- <br />bined curb and gutter of the sizes <br />and dimensions herein set forth <br />shall also be construtced upon all <br />corners of Intersecting .and termi- <br />nating streets within the lines <br />and limits of the above described <br />portions of Broadway and blain <br />Street. <br />The construction of a cement <br />concrete gutter oil both sides <br />of Broadway from the eastt,rly ]lite <br />of the conerete pavement adjoin- <br />ing the most easterly rail of the <br />Southern Pacific Railroad Conn- <br />pany's tracks to the center line <br />of Washington Street and includ- <br />ing the returns on all intersecting <br />anti terminating streets withla the <br />above described portion of Broad - <br />wily, said cement concrete gutter <br />to be five feet du width and three <br />inches thick. <br />The construction of a con out <br />concrete gutter on both sides of <br />Alain Str,.et from fine center line <br />of Niaple Street to the northerly <br />line of the right of way of the <br />Southern Pacific Railroad Com- <br />pany and including the returns <br />on all intersecting and ternninat <br />ing streets within the above (It - <br />scribed portion of Main Street <br />said gutter to be thirty inches <br />wide and two and one-half inches <br />thick. <br />Tine removal of thirty-three elec- <br />troliers at present Instal -ed on <br />Broadway behveet the Southern <br />Pacific Railroad Company's right <br />of way and Alain Street, and oil <br />Alain Street between Broadway <br />and Alaple Street, together with <br />the concrete buses, and pull out <br />approximately $500 feet of two <br />conductor cable, and to construct <br />an electrolder lighting system on <br />Broadway and Matn Street be- <br />tween points as above named for <br />removal of electrolde•s. including <br />the installation of fifty-nine two <br />lamp elecholiers, the standards to <br />be Union Metal design No. 5092, <br />equipped with tura General Elec- <br />tric Form 12 Novalux Units Cata- <br />log No. 257695, and two G. E. <br />Catalog No. 4x563 type 1L. trans- <br />formers in base the elecholiers <br />to be r'gidly anchored ht concrete <br />foolhngs thirty Inches square by <br />thir'y inehea deep, and all con- <br />dult, cable, wiring and appurte- <br />nances necessary to complete tine <br />lighting system and put sante into <br />complete working order,' <br />The elecholiers or standards <br />above mentioned shall be connect- <br />ed in four circuits and said elec- <br />trolderst and lamps shall be rim <br />to and connect with four trans- <br />formers, two to be furnished by <br />Lite contractor but to be installed <br />by the Town of Redwood City, one <br />transformer to be installed upon <br />the existing pole on the easterly <br />side of Winslow Sheet near the <br />northerly line of Broadway and <br />the other transformer to be in- <br />stalled upon the existing pole 01, <br />the easterly side of Jefferson Ave. <br />nue near the southerly line of <br />Webster Street, the other two <br />transformers being at present in- <br />stalled in basement at City Hall. <br />There Is included do the work <br />hereunder in the construction of <br />said lighting system all intersec- <br />tions anti terminations on. said <br />portions of Broadway and Alain <br />Street herein described, <br />That one hundred forty (1.10) <br />feet of electrical'conduit and cable <br />be laid on the northeasterly side <br />of Arguello Street from the north. <br />orly line of Broadway to connect <br />with the pole at said point, and <br />also that eighty (30) feet of else- <br />tricai conduit and cable be laid <br />on the easterly side of Wash'ng <br />ton St'oet from the northerly line <br />of Broadway to connect with the <br />pole at said point. <br />And that electrical conduit and <br />cable be constructed across Bl'ottd- <br />way and Alain Street at the fol <br />lowing places, to -wit: (1) from <br />the northerly to lite southerly <br />side of Broadway at Arguello <br />Street; (2) from the northerly to <br />the southerly shle of Broadway <br />at Websto• _Street; (3) from <br />the northerly to the southerly <br />side of Broadway one hundred ten <br />(110) feet westerly from Alain <br />Street; (4) across Alain street <br />from the easterly to the westerly <br />sides thereof at Stambaugh <br />Street; (5) and across Main <br />Sheet from the easterly to tine <br />westerly sides thereof at Maple <br />Street. <br />That electrical conduit and <br />cable be laid el the northerly <br />side of Webster Street from Alain <br />Street to tine electrical manhole <br />in froth of the City Hall. <br />The lighting system to be con <br />structed on Broadway and Main <br />Street as herein provided for shall <br />be connected to the present elec- <br />trolier system now fn use at both <br />ends of said new system and also <br />at 'Webster Street. <br />Said elecholiers, conduit cable, <br />:amps, globes, cutouts, wiring <br />transformers and lighting system <br />complete shall be constructed at <br />the places, in the positions and <br />locations and of the sizes, dinnen- <br />sions and materials as provided <br />for and in accordance with tine <br />plans, profiles detailed drawings <br />and specifications hereinafter re- <br />ferred to hu•edn. <br />The removal of the existing as- <br />phaltic wearing surface on Broad- <br />way from the easterly line of the <br />concrete pavement adjoining the <br />most easterly rail of Lite South- <br />ern Pacific Railroad Company's <br />tracks to Alain Street, excepting <br />the concrete bridge on Broadway, <br />and on Main Sheet from the <br />northerly line of Broadway to <br />the northerly line of the right of <br />way of the Southern Pacific Rail- <br />road Company, and inchnding all <br />dnte•seetions and terminations or <br />portions thereof within the lines <br />of the above described portions <br />of Broadway and Main Street: <br />After the asphaltic wearing sur- <br />face has been removed as pro- <br />vided for do the last preceding <br />paragraph, the existing concrete <br />base shall be brought to the prop - <br />Or grade and cross-section as <br />shown on the plans and profiles <br />by filling do all depressions and <br />correcting all irregularities `Inere- <br />int with asphaltic concrete. <br />That Broadway from the east- <br />erly line of the concrete pave- <br />ment adjohiiig the most easterly <br />rail of the Southern Pacific Rail- <br />road Company's hacks to Alain <br />Street, and Mahn Street from the <br />northerly line of Broadway to the <br />northerly line of the right of way <br />of the Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Company, including all Intersec- <br />tions and terminations within the <br />lines of said Broadway and Main <br />Street herein described, between <br />the gutters to be construoted <br />thereon as here it provided he fill <br />Prove(] by having laid thereon a <br />%%'tit, eoite-Bitulith'c wearing sur• <br />face two inches thick. <br />To remove two catch hasius or <br />storm water hnlo's, one on the <br />easterly roadway line. of Alain <br />S reef near the southerly line of <br />Aliddlefte d Road, and one on the <br />westerly roadway line of Alain <br />Street near the southerly line of <br />Webster Sheet To construct two <br />catch basins or storm water in- <br />'ets of cement concrete, with cast <br />iron frames and gratings, one <br />catch basin on the southerly road- <br />way line of Middlefield Road at <br />Lite easterly line of Alain Street, <br />and one catch basin on the west- <br />erly roadway line' of Matin Street <br />at a point five feet northerly from <br />the southerly line of Webster <br />Street produced easterly.
