7 <br />a� <br />255 <br />n� <br />JMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />1 REDWOOD CITY C0M1CIL <br />JULY 21, 1930 <br />8 P.M. <br />Upon roll call there were present: Councilmen Mayor D. R. Stafford, H. A. Beeger, 71. J. Dusel, <br />C. J. Hildebrant, E. B. Hinman, G. W. McNulty, City Clerk B. E. Myers. Absent: Paul A. <br />McCarthy. <br />Minutes of the meeting held July 7, 1930, were approved on motion of Councilman Hinman, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />� <br />Mr. Paris asked permission to run his skating rink on Sundays and on motion of Councilman <br />r Mciiulty; seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, permission was given revocable at any time <br />at the option of the Council. <br />Mr. Dave Walter presented a letter from the Tacoma Hill Company concerning the deed for <br />0 <br />UA <br />right of way for the extension of Washington, Webster and Brewster Streets. On motion <br />of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City Attorney was instructed <br />to dray up the resolution in accordance with the request of the Tacoma Pill Company and <br />report back at the next meeting. <br />Mr. Yensoian representing the Redwood City Promotion Association made complaint about the <br />kind of building that the service -station used at the corner of Hopkins and the Highway. <br />Its. D. R. Flynn brought up the question of electroliers for the rest of Main Street and, <br />after discussion, on motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Beeger, the <br />City Engineer was instructed to work up the necessary specifications. <br />Upon.motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant an ordinance was intro- <br />duced changing the rate from 5 -2L -Y. to 4 fo on the $55,000 issue of municipal bonds recently <br />sold to the Bank of Italy. <br />A dance permit was granted to the Y. M. I. for July 26th upon motion of Councilman Hildebrant, <br />seconded by Councilman Hinman. <br />Upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the City Manager's recommendation <br />for the work on Valota Roud was approved. <br />The City Planning Commission presented the written resignation of Ur. A. H. Reith and upon <br />motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant it was accepted and the <br />Clerk instructed to write Mr. Reith an expression of thanks for his work with the Planning <br />Commission; a successor to Mr. Reith to be considered at a future meeting. <br />A communication from the Real Estate Board was, upon motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty, tabled, to be taken up at a later date. <br />The City Engineer presented dravrings for the construction of bridges on Clinton, Grand, <br />Madison$ Ramona, Roosevelt, and Woodrow Streets and upon motion of Councilman Mallulty, <br />seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, they were accepted. Upon motion of Councilman <br />Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids. <br />Upon motion of Councilman Mollulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City Manager was <br />instructed to purchase further piling in the open market. <br />The City Manager asked the attitude of the Council toward the hanging of political banners <br />and was instructed to deny all applications. <br />f <br />
