<br />bridge on Broadway, and on Mahn
<br />Street from Broadway to' Maple
<br />Street, the curb portion of said
<br />cement concrete combined curb
<br />and gutter to be six inches across
<br />the top and fourteen inches deep
<br />and the gutter portion of said
<br />cement concrete combined curb
<br />and gutter to be five feet wide
<br />and to be eight inches thick, and
<br />said cement concrete curb and
<br />gutter to be built and constructed
<br />at one time .so that there shall be
<br />no joint between the curb- and
<br />gutter. Said cement concrete com-
<br />bined curb and gutter of the sizes
<br />and dimensions herein set forth'
<br />shall also be construteed upon all
<br />corners of intersecting and terms-,
<br />listing streets within the - lines
<br />and limits of the above described
<br />portions of Broadway and Main
<br />Street. s
<br />The construction of a Cement
<br />concrete gutter on both sides
<br />of Broadway from the eastErly line
<br />of the concrete pavement 'adjoin -
<br />Ing the most easterly rail of the
<br />Southern Pacific Railroad' Com-
<br />pany's tracks to the center line
<br />of Washington Street and includ-
<br />ing the returns on all intersucting
<br />and terminating streets within the
<br />above described portion- of Broad-
<br />way, said cement concrete gutter
<br />to be fivefeetin width and three
<br />Inches thick.
<br />The construction of a cement
<br />concrete gutter on both sides of
<br />Blain Stroet from the center line
<br />of Maple Street, to the *northerly
<br />line of the right of way of the
<br />Southern Pacific Railroad Com-
<br />pany. and including the returns,
<br />on all Intersecting and torminat•
<br />Ing streets within the above de;
<br />scribed portion of Main Street,
<br />said gutter to be thirty inches
<br />wide and two and one-half inches
<br />thick.
<br />The removal of thirty-three elec-
<br />trollers at present installed on
<br />Boradway between the Southern
<br />Pacific Railroad Company's right
<br />of way and Blain Street, and on
<br />Blain Street between Broadway
<br />and Maple Street, together with
<br />the concrete bases, and pull out
<br />approximately 8500 feet of two
<br />conductor cable, and to construct
<br />all electrolfer lighting system on
<br />Broadway and Main Street be-
<br />tween points as above named for
<br />removal of electroliers, Including
<br />the installation of fifty-nine two
<br />lamp electroliors, the standards to
<br />be Union Metal design No. 8092,
<br />equipped with two General Elec-
<br />tric Form 12 Novahux Units Cata-
<br />log No. 257695, and two G. E.
<br />Catalog No. 4x568 type I,L, trans-
<br />formers in base, the electroliers
<br />to be rigidly anchored in concrete
<br />(footings thirty inches square by
<br />(thirty inches deep, and all con-
<br />' duct, cable, wiring and appurte-
<br />nances necessary to complete the
<br />lighting system and put same Into
<br />complete working order.
<br />Tlne electrollers or standards
<br />above mentioned shall be connect -
<br />oil in four ,circuits and said elec-
<br />troliers and lamps shall be run
<br />to and connect with four trans-
<br />formers, two to be furnished by
<br />the contractor but to be installed
<br />by the Town of Redwood City, one
<br />transformer to be installed upon
<br />the existing pole oil the easterly
<br />side of Winslow Street near the
<br />northerly line of, Broadway and
<br />the other transformer to be in-
<br />stalled upon the existing pole on
<br />the easterly side of Jefferson Ave-
<br />nue near the southerly line of
<br />Webster Street, the other two
<br />transformers being at present In-
<br />stalled in basement at City Hall.
<br />There is Included in the work
<br />hereunder fn the construction of
<br />said lighting system all intersec-
<br />tions and terminations oil said
<br />portions of Broadway and Main
<br />Street herein described.

<br />After the asphaltic wearing sur-
<br />face has been removed as pro-
<br />vided for in the last preceding
<br />paragraph, and existing' concrete
<br />base shall be brought to the prop-
<br />er grade and cross-section as
<br />shown on the plans and profiles
<br />by filling In all depressions and
<br />correcting all irregularities :here-
<br />in' with asphaltic concrete.
<br />That Broadway from the east-
<br />erly line of the concrete pave-
<br />ment adjoining the most easterly
<br />rail of the Southern Pacific Rail-
<br />road Company's tracks to Blain
<br />Street, and Main Street from the'
<br />northerly line of Broadway to the
<br />northerly line"of the right of way
<br />of the Southern Pacific Railroad
<br />Company, including all Intersec-
<br />tions and terminations within the
<br />lines of said Broadway and Main
<br />Street herein described, between
<br />the gutters to be constructed
<br />thereon as herein provided, be im-
<br />proved by having laid thereon a
<br />Warrenite-Bitulithic wearing * sur-
<br />face two Inches thick.
<br />To removes two catch basins or
<br />storm water inlets, one on the
<br />easterly roadway line of Main
<br />Street near the southerly line of
<br />BIiddleffeld Road, and one on the
<br />westerly roadway line of Mahn
<br />Street near the southerly line of
<br />Webster Street. To construct two
<br />catch basins or storm water in-
<br />lets of cement concrete, with cast
<br />Iron frames and gratings, one
<br />catch basin on the southerly road-
<br />way line of Bliddlefield Road at
<br />the easterly: line of Main Street,
<br />and one catch basin on the west-
<br />erly roadway line of Main Street
<br />at a point five feet northerly from
<br />the southerly line, of Webster
<br />Street produced easterly. The cast
<br />Iron framros and. grating and steel
<br />curb p' -ate from the two existing
<br />catch basins that are to be re-
<br />moved shall be used, In the con-
<br />struction of the new catch ba-
<br />sins -
<br />That the concrete floor slab,
<br />beams and girders of the concrete
<br />bridgeon Broadway from and in-
<br />cluding the southerly curb to the
<br />southerly property line of said
<br />Broadway be removed, and also
<br />a portion of the floor slab and the
<br />curb at the northeasterly corner
<br />of said concrete bridge be re-
<br />moved, and these portions of said
<br />bridge to be reconstructed to
<br />agree with the new lines for the
<br />roadway of Broadway, and all in
<br />accordance with the detailed de-
<br />signs as shown on the plans, pro-
<br />files and specifications hereinaf-
<br />ter referred to.
<br />That Broadway from the center
<br />line of Wiishfngton Street to Main
<br />Street, and BIain Street from the
<br />northerly line of Broadway to
<br />Maple Street be Improved by hav-
<br />ing cement concrete sidewalk con-
<br />structed thereon where the ce
<br />mennt concrete sidewalk' has been
<br />removed as herinbefore specified,
<br />said sidewalk to extend from the
<br />cement concrete curb to be built
<br />as herein provided to .the existing
<br />concrete sidewalk on both sides
<br />of said portions of Broadway and
<br />Main Street hereinbefore men-
<br />tioned, said sidewalk to be four
<br />inches. thick.
<br />Reference is hereby made to
<br />the Warrenite-Bitulithic license
<br />mixing agreement of the Warren
<br />Brothers Company, dated March
<br />18th, 1926, and now on file in
<br />the office of the Clerk of the
<br />Town of Redwood City and the
<br />same is made a part hereof.
<br />Reference is hereby made to
<br />the patent license agreement of
<br />the Street Lighting & Equipment
<br />Company of California, dated Jan-
<br />uary 7th, 1929, and now on file
<br />it the office of the Clerk of the
<br />Town of Redwood City; and the
<br />sane is made a part hereof.
<br />Town, to which plans, profiles;
<br />detailed drawings 'and specifica-
<br />tions reference Is hereby made for
<br />a complete ,description and loca-
<br />tion of said work and Improve-
<br />ments and for further particulars,
<br />and the same are made a part
<br />hereof.
<br />And the Council of the Town of
<br />Redwood City does hereby deter-
<br />mine and declare that the fore-
<br />going described work and Im-
<br />provements are of more than lo-
<br />cal or ordinary ,public benefit and
<br />will affect and benefit the .lands
<br />and district hereinafter mentioned,
<br />which said district is hereby de-
<br />clared to be the district benefited
<br />.by sal,: work and Improvements;
<br />that therefore the entire costs
<br />and expenses of said work and
<br />improvements shall be and are
<br />hereby made chargeable against
<br />and shall be assessed upon said'
<br />lands and district, which district
<br />is within the limits of the Town
<br />of Redwood City, County of San
<br />Mateo, State of California, and
<br />said district Is described and
<br />shown on a certain map or plat
<br />entitled "Map Showing Assess-
<br />ment District under Resolution of
<br />Intention No.. L-2", which map
<br />or plat was adopted and approved
<br />by the . Council of the Town of
<br />Redwood City on the 4th day of
<br />February, 1929, and which map or
<br />plat is now on file in the office
<br />of the Clerk, of said Town of
<br />Redwood City, and to which map
<br />or p' -at reference is hereby made
<br />for an accurate, and complete de-
<br />scription and location of said as-
<br />sessment district, I and, _the same
<br />Is 'made a part ,hereof; provided,
<br />however; that all 'streets, and ave-
<br />nues or portions thereof Included
