<br />The Business License Ordinance presented by the City Attorney was introduced on motion of
<br />Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant.
<br />Considerable discussion followed the introduction of the selection of trees for the parking
<br />areas, especially concerning Black Walnut and Black Acacia, Supt, of Parks, George Hopkins,
<br />participating. Finally upon the suggestion of Councilman McCarthy, it eras informally
<br />decided to substitute Sycamore for the Black Walnut.
<br />C. L. Dimmitt, Supt. of the Mater Plant, made a report on the water test at the Canine Troll,
<br />and it appearing satisfactory, upon motioh of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman
<br />Iiildebrant, he was instructed to advertise for bids on the required 6" and 8" Cast Iron Pipe.
<br />Following a discussion of the Treed abatement protests, upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded
<br />by Councilman Y;oltulty, the City Collector was authorized, acting under the supervision of
<br />the City Manager, to make whatever adjustments .it was thought necessary.
<br />C. L. Dimmitt, City Engineer, presented plans and specifications for the opening of Warwick
<br />Street to cross Finger Creek into San Carlos, and upon motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded
<br />by Councilman Hildebrant, the plans and specifications were adopted.
<br />Affidavits of posting and publishing NOTICE OF FILING STREET ASSESSMENT AND OF TIME FIXED FOR
<br />HEARING THEREON were ordered received and filed, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy,
<br />seconddd by Councilman Hildebrant. Whereupon Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman
<br />McI'lulty, offered the following Resolution CONFIRMING, STREET ASSESSMENT, Resolution of
<br />Intention I4-8:
<br />RESOLUTION CONFIRMING STREET ASSESSMENT NO. M-8.
<br />WHEREAS, the assessment for street work done under that certain
<br />contract dated the 26th day of August, 1930, between W. 0. TYSON, the
<br />party of the first part, and C. L. DIVKITT, as Superintendent of Streets
<br />of the City of Redwood City, party of the second part, for the doing
<br />of all street work mentioned and described in Resolution of Intention
<br />No. M-8, passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City
<br />on the 16th day of June, 1930, and now on file in the office of the
<br />Clerk of said City, to which Resolution of Intention reference is hereby
<br />made for a description of said work, was filed in the office of the
<br />Clerk of said City of Redwood City on the 10th day of November, 1930; and
<br />WHEREAS, said City Clerk did thereupon fix Monday, the 1st day of
<br />December, 1930, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. of said day, at the meeting
<br />place of the Council of the City of Redwood City, in the Council Chamber
<br />in the City Hall on Webster Street in said City, as the time and place
<br />of hearing on said assessment, as requied by lair, and as the time and
<br />place for making written objections thereto, as provided for in the
<br />Improvement Act of 1911; and
<br />WHEREAS, notice of the filing of said assessment and of the time
<br />fixed for hearing thereon was duly given by posting, publishing and
<br />mailing, as required by lmv, as appears from the affidavits of B.E.
<br />Myers and L. C. Benning, now on f ile in the office of the Clerk of said
<br />City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, at the time and place last herein mentioned, no objec-
<br />tions of any kind were made against said assessment; and
<br />WHEREAS, said Council of the City of Redwood City has now acquired
<br />jurisdiction thereon:
<br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood
<br />City, County of San Mateo, State of California, that the assessment
<br />above mentioned for street work done under Resolution of Intention No.
<br />Y-8 hereinbeforo referred to herein be and the same is hereby approved
<br />and adopted, and the Superintendent of Streets of said City of Redwood
<br />City is hereby directed to attach a warrant thereto and deliver same to
<br />the contractor, as required by law.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at
<br />a regular adjourned meeting thereof held on the 8th day of December, 1930,
