' 3393� MINUTES OF REGULAR I.IEETING REIIVOOD CITY COUNCIL DEC. 15, 1930 7:30 PM Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R.Staff ord, H A Beeger, IT J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A McCarthy, G 79 McNulty. City Clerk B E Idyers. i On motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the minutes of the meetings of December 1st and 8th were approved. D P Flynn for the Committee -on -Extension -of I1ain-Street reported that the Committee had been unable to get any definite agreement with the S H Frank Company and he advised a to proceed under some assessment district. After considerable discussion, upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Engineer was instructed to prepare a map of the district to be assessed showing the description s of parcels of land to be acquired, and the Attorney was to prepare the necessary t resolution for the next meeting. In accordance with the notice asking for bids for the leasing of the old corporation property at Chestnut and Middlefield, Geo. S. Greeley of Redwood City offered to take a three (3) year lease on this property at 025.00 a month, and upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the bid was accepted. Two letters from the Chamber of Commerce were read in which considerable discussion was brought out concerning the recreational activities of Redwood City and park area the subject matter being elaborated upon by Councilman McCarthy especially con- cerning Mx. Goo, w. Braden, Western representative of the National Recreation ,. Association. It was decided, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hinman, that the Council approve the employment of Mr. Braden as consultant in laying out our parks. In the discussion it developed this particular park should not be called Legion Park but the correct name was Hezes Plaza. The City Attorney was asked to get a report f rom the Title Company as to the condition of the City's title to this property. The Clerk was also instructed to tell the members of the Yezes family that the City intended to improve this block and to ask thom if they cared to make any contribution toward that end. A communication from the Oak Knoll I:rprovement Club was ordered received and filed. After some discussion on the matter, upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman ITildebrant, the Council decided to accept the office of Lawrence A. DeRosa as auditor for the fiscal year at a price of 1600.00. The City hanager presented a claim from the Library Trustees for money advanced for publicity purposes durin.- the Library Association's meeting in Redwood City MID and the Council agreed to pay it out of the General Fund, on motion of �+ Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman KoCarthy. The City Manager brought up the subject of the 14ayors' organizal;ion and he was instructed to follow up the matter and report anything lie considered of ir'.portance .
