<br />The City I:anager also reported that in his quest for the deed frown Leonard & 701-L for
<br />the Easter Cross property he had found it in Kr. I".ansfield's office and it
<br />would be ready for the next meeting.

<br />The City Engineer said that he was unable, due to Christmas holidays, to report con-
<br />cerning the number of children walking along James Street but would report later.
<br />The City Attorney presented report prepared by the City Engineer on tree planting and
<br />after discussion, Councilman Dusel, seconded by Coup -oilman McNulty, offered the
<br />following resolution approving this report:

<br />WHEREAS, on the 6th day of October, 1930, the Council of the
<br />City of Redwood City did adopt Resolution of Intention No. M-15, for the
<br />planting of certain trees upon certain streets in the City of Redwood City
<br />named in said Resolution of Intention, and
<br />VMREAS, said Council did in said Resolution of Intention refer
<br />said matter to the City Engineer for his report thereon, as required by
<br />the provisions of that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of
<br />California, entitled "An Act to Provide for the Planting, Protection
<br />and Care and the Removal and Change of Shade Tree's and ornamental shrubs
<br />along and in Public Streets, Avenues, Lanes, Alleys, Courts and Places
<br />with municipalities and for the Assessment for the .Costs and Expenses
<br />Thereof upon the Lots', parts of Lots and Lands Fronting on the Public
<br />Streets, Avenues, Lanes, Alleys, Courts' of Places where such work is to
<br />be Done", approved Juno 11, 1913, together with amendments thereto, and
<br />VRIEREAS, said Engineer has, on this 15th day of December„ 1930,
<br />f iled said report in writing -with said Council, as required by the pro-
<br />visions of said Act, and which said report is ai all respects, as required
<br />by said Act, and
<br />VIBE -REAS, said Council is satisfied with said report of said City
<br />Engineer.
<br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood
<br />City that Monday, the 12th day of January, 1931, at the hour of 7:30
<br />o'clock P.M. of said day, at the Council Chamber of the Council of the
<br />City of Redwood City, in the City Hall of said City, be and the same is
<br />hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing protests in relation to
<br />the proposed improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No .
<br />11-15, and in the report of the Engineer thereunder, and
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Council be and he
<br />is hereby directed to give notice of said hearing, as required by law, and
<br />BE IT FURTIiER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City
<br />that the Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper published, printed and
<br />circulated in said City of Redwood City is hereby designated as the
<br />newspaper in which such notice of hearing shall be published, as herein
<br />described, and
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Council shall cause
<br />to be conspicuously posted along the streets, avenues, lanes, alleys,
<br />courts or places included in said Resolution of Intention, at not more
<br />than three hur4red feet in distance apart and not less than three in all,
<br />notices of the passage of said Resolution.of Intention, and of the filing
<br />of said report, as required by the provisions of the hereinbefore men-
<br />tioned Act which is known as "The Tree Planting Act of 1913".
<br />' Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City
<br />at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of December, 1930, by
<br />the following vote:
<br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing Resolution,
<br />Councilmen: D R Stafford, H A Beeger, VT J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman,
<br />P A McCarthy, G VT McNulty.
<br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution,
<br />Councilmen: NONE.
