<br />A discussion was had concerning the deeds from Leonard & Holt for parcels of property at and
<br />near the Easter Cross and, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman
<br />Dusel, the :,:ayox was instructed to appoint a cornittee to interview Leonard & Folt in
<br />regard to the possibility of acquiring additional property. The committee with
<br />Councilman Seeger as Chairman consisted of Councilmen Hinman, McCarthy, and Stafford.
<br />The question of charging Theodore Ba---ry a taxi license was discussed and the entire matter
<br />laid over until the next meeting.

<br />motion of Councilman IdcCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hinman, the Treasurer was
<br />instructed to issue warrant for ,,7200.00 to apply toward the expense of malting the
<br />report.
<br />Upon motion of Councilman KcCarthy, seconded by Councilman Beeger, the claim presented by
<br />the City En;;ineer in favor of Louis 11. Pollard as final payment of the Stafford
<br />Street retaining wall was approved. In the same connection the Clerk was instructed
<br />to -write a letter and bill the Pacific Gas & Electric Company for 5JSO.00 which they
<br />had agreed to pay.
<br />The City Engineer explained concerning the suggested resolution for the imnovment of Redwood
<br />Creel: and the City Attorney read the resolution and explained in more detail following
<br />which Councilman Firman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, offered the following resolution
<br />and moved its adoption.
<br />WHEREAS, by Act of Congress approved July 2, 1930, the United
<br />States adopted a project for the improvement of Redwood Creels, Califor-
<br />nia, as described in House Document No. 142, 70th Congress, 1st Session,
<br />subject to the provisions that local interests shall contribute one-half
<br />the first cost of the improvement and furnish suitable dumping Bounds,
<br />tor,ether with necessary. bulkheads and other structures pertaining thereto;
<br />and
<br />"EERFAS, the City Council of Redwood City is anxious that the
<br />United States make the improvements authorized by the said act;
<br />NW THEREFORE, the City Council of Redwood City, consideration
<br />of the promises, hereby agrees to assume and does hereby assume the ob-
<br />ligations required of local inL-erests by said act, to wit:
<br />Provide and transfer to the United States the sum of 026,000,
<br />being one-half the estimated cost of the improvement; and
<br />Provide suitable dumping grounds, to be approved by the District
<br />Engineer of the United States Engineer Office, San Francisco, California,
<br />together with necessary bulkheads and other structures pertaining thereto.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at
<br />a regular adjourned meeting thereof held on the 22nd day of December,
<br />1 1930, by the f ollowing vote:
<br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution,
<br />ouncilmen: H A Beeger, Yd J Dusel, 'E B Hinman, P A McCarthy, G W McNulty,
<br />D R Stafford.
<br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution,
<br />Councilmen: None.
