376 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 16, 1931 <br />7:30 PM <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beeger, <br />W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A McCarthy, Geo W McNulty, and City Clerk <br />B E Myers. <br />The minutes of March 2 were approved as corrected on motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded <br />by Councilman Hildebrant. <br />A. J. Stebenne asked the Council to suspend the license fee for a circus to come here under <br />the auspices of the local lodge of Eagles. This was done, on motion of Councilman <br />Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel. <br />Mr. Leugar again addressed the Council concerning the use of local labor in contracts. <br />The matter was finally disposed of by laying it aside until the first meeting in May. <br />Mr. Robert N. Jones, representing the Greater South Redwood Improvement Association, asked <br />what had been done about the traffic signals at Five Points and Councilman McCarthy <br />and the City Manager explained that, while the permit had been given, certain conditions <br />had been attached to it that made it undesirable to accept. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel, offered the f6ilowing resolution accepting <br />deed from the Tacoma Mill Company for that parcel of land necessary for the extension <br />of Main Street: <br />RESOLVED by the Council of thea City of Red -wood City that the <br />hereunto annexed deed, dated the 100'_day of AWWU+y 1931, and made <br />between the Tacoma Mill Company, a corporation, party of the first part, and <br />the CITY OF REIF10OD CITY, a municipal corporation of the State of Calif- <br />ornia, party of the second part, be and the same is hereby accepted by <br />the City of Redwood City, and the Clerk of this Council is hereby ordered <br />to have the same recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the <br />County of San Mateo, State of California. <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City that the land and property described in the deed hereinbefore mentioned <br />be and the same is hereby dedicated to public use for street purposes and <br />that the same shall become and is hereby declared to be a part of Main <br />Street in said City of Redwood City. <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and <br />regularly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />at a regular adjourned meeting thereof held on the 36tH day of March, <br />1931, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: H A Beeger, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, <br />P A McCarthy, Geo W McNulty, D R Stafford. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Absent: Councilmen NONE <br />DANIEL R STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Attest: <br />B.
