Two letters relating to the Harbor and the Harbor bill from the Citizens Harbor Development 1 �1 s �1 Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, were ordered filed. The City Attorney for the benefit of the Councilman summarized the main features of the Harbor Bill which had been drawn up by this Committee for presentation to the Legislature. Upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Clerk was instructed to write Assemblyman Parkman that the Council had formally adopted and ratified the proposed Harbor Bill and to Senator Cleveland to urge him to favor the passage of the bill. The City Manager reported about the Woodside Road and the feasibility of placing a strip of crushed rock along each side. The oommunioation was ordered filed and the Manager was asked to look up the correspondence concerning the Cemetery. Approving the recommendation of the Redwood City Planning Commission, Mrs. C. Bryan was given permission to subdivide her lots according to sketch submitted provided the garage should be built as an integral part of the residence --this upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hinman, L. C. Rowan asked permission to take a 15t strip off lot 5, Block S. Edgewood Park and add it to Lot 6 of the same block. Aocompawr ng this request was check for 125,00 to apply as the cost of re -assessment. Upon motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City Engineer was instructed to proceed with the re- assessment as requested. The City Treasurer explained about the request cP Mrs. Ruby Osborn of Oakland for a refund in connection with a payment of hers made late in 1925. It was ordered, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hinman, to make this refund if in the opinion of the City Treasurer and Tax Collector the circV#dtances warranted it. Mr. L. Martin, 721 Lincoln Avenue, petitioned the Council to pave the 700 block on Lincoln Avenue. The letter was ordered filed. The City Manager called attention to the donation of trees by the Native Daughters and the Girl Scouts'and he was asked to write a letter of acknowledgment and appreciation. The City Manager also reported that there were so many bids on the deep well pumps that he and the City Engineer had not had time to prepare the figures and make a recommendation. The Health Officer asked that something be done about sewers along Valota,Road and the City Engineer was instructed to get a description of the •property and the Attorney to obtain an ownership report so that the property owners might be approached on this subject. The City Attorney explained in regard to the compromise effected between the City and Manuel R. Vierra and his wife, Mary Vierra, for the damages sustained by their son, George R. Vierra, when he was struck by a bell on or about March 16, 1930. Upon motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Beeger, the City Treasurer was authorized to draw a warrant for $700.00 in favor of Manuel R. Vierra dnd Mary Vierra. 377
