D.L. Walter addressed the Council and asked its attitude about the buildHiagof a bungalow auto camp along the Bay Shore Highway. The general feeling of the Council was that such a camp would not be detrimental provided the management constructed suitable quarters and kept them in a sanitary condition: The City Manager submitted a letter addressed to him from the San Mateo County Title Company concerning the transferring of title to Lot 38, Block 14, Central Park, because of certain building restrictions, which letter is on file and the reply to the letter of the Title Company will be found on the back of the letter. On motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Clerk was instructed to write the Title Company that the Council in the circumstances would take no action which would be prejudical to the title of the property. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the City Attofney was instructed to bring in an amendment to the building ordinance or suggest some way to avoid the confusion which arose out of the building of two houses on one corner lot. The City Manager explained about the possibility of erecting a traffic signal at Five Points soon and that he was about ready to advertise for bids. In regard to the bill from H.W. Crozier, it was explained that the money to pay for his services ' was at the First National Bank but that it would be best to have the City records show all of the transaction. The Clerk therefore, was instructed to get the County claim from the First National Bank and the City would advance the necessary payments to Mr. Crozier until the County claim could be properly deposited. The City Manager introduced for discussion a bill from Emmett Donnelly for repainting a car which had been damaged by chemicals at a fire. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the matter was put over until the next meeting. P.E. Brand brought in two petitions protesting the changing of name of Washington to Jefferson Avenue and Webster to Middlefield Road. D.L. Walter spoke emphati:.,"Aly in favor of making the change. However, as the hearing on the proposed ordinance for changing names was not scheduled for this meeting it was decided, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, to have the engineer paint on the curb on these streets not only the suggested change but also the old name to avoid confusion on the part of strangers look for certain addresses. The City Attorney read to the Council a proposed ordinance concerning the distribution of handbills, dodgers, etc., in the downtown section and, upon motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Ordinance was formally introduced.
