I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 1st day of June, DANIEL R STAFFORD Mayor of the City of Redwood City Mr. Dixon for the Standard Stations, Inc., asked the attitude of the Council concerning the contemplated erection of a steel canopy over the grease rack at the service station near the tracks on the Southern Pacific property. Upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, he was permitted to make the construction described. A letter was read from the Redwood City Promotion Association in which this Association recommended that card games when carried on as a business should be licensed and permits required as for other businesses. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Beeger, the letter was ordered filed. Owen D. Richardson submitted a communication to the Council concerning certain repairs to the road at the clubhouse and harbor, supply of water, and the desirability of one member of the Council serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Yacht Club. The City Manager explained that the supply of water was all right and that he would be willing to take these matters up with the Yacht Club. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the City Manager was instructed to take care of the situation. As Councilman Beeger is already a member of the Yacht Club, it was decided, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hinman, that he should officially represent the Council at the Yacht Club. Grant U. Wood again addressed the Council by letter concerning his previous petition for junk gAther's license and the Clerk was instructed to tell Mr. Wood to ,appear before the Council at its next meeting. The Clerk read a letter sent to Mayor Stafford from H.W. Crozier with his second monthly report, for the month of May, which was ordered filed, upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman McCarthy.
