D MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDNOOD CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 3, 1931 8:00 P M Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, G W McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers. Absent: Councilmen: P A McCarthy and H A Beeger. The minutes of the meeting of July 20 were approved, on motion,of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman Dusel. At this time the resignation of Councilman Hinman came up for consideration and upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the resignation was accepted, although members of the Council expressed to Councilman Hinman their regret that it became necessary for him to resign. After the resignation of Councilman Hinman the next order of business was to choose his successor and on motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, Charles G Lambert was appointed to succeed Councilman Hinman, to take office immediately, after which Councilman Lambert was sworn in and signed the official oath which was ordered filed. Mr. L Martin living in the 700 -block on Lincoln Avenue again addressed the Council as to the possibility of having that portion of Lincoln Avenue paved. However, as he and his neighbor did not represent at least 50% of the frontage on the street it was explained that he had better try to interest more of the property owners. City Auditor Lawrence DeRosa assured the Council in a letter dated August 3 that the audit had been completed for the fiscal year and that the cash on hand and in banks was found to be in order, and that a formal report would be furnished on Thursday, August 9. The letter was ordered filed. In a written communication L A Behrens asked the Council if anything could be done toward the removal of dead cypress trees on the dividing line between his property and adjacent property. On motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the matter was referred to the City Manager and Fire Chief Ryan. On motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Superintendent of Streets was authorized to make re -assessments as requested by the Doasee Company in connection with Lot 38, Block 14, Central Park. Councilman Hildebrant, 4econded by Councilman Dusel, offered resolution accepting leases covering property of the Southern Pacific Company on Chestnut Street, Carried. The affidavit of publication of notice concerning hearing on the opening and widening of Hudson Street was ordered filed, on motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Following this, Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman McNulty, offered the following resolution confirming and adopting this assessment. RESOLUTION CONFIRMING ASSESSMENT UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. M-5. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did, on the 7th day of April, 1930, pass and adopt Resolution of intention No. M-5 to order the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said City of Redwood City, to -wit: That Hudson Street in the City of Redwood City be opened to a 419
