22 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDNOOD CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 17, 1931 8:00 P M Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: H A Beeger, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, P A McCarthy, G W McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers, Absent: Councilman, Mayor D R Stafford. In the absence of Mayor Stafford, Councilman H A Beeger was chosen to preside, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel. The minutes of the meeting of August 3 were ordered approved, on motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. The City Manager submitted report on bids received for the construction of 400 linear feet of redwood pipe as follows: Pacific Tank & Pipe Cc: 400 ft. Ca]412.20 per lin.ft. $880.00 Total (Less 2% cash 10 days) Redwood Manufacturers Cc: 400 ft. @$2.27 per lin.ft. 908.00 Total i With the recommendation that the contract be awarded to the Pacific Tank and Pipe (} Company. His recommendation was approved on motion of Councilman IdcNulty, seconded I' by Councilman Hildebrant.� On motion of Councilman McNulty; seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Bank of America N.T. & �s S.A., and the First National Bank of San Mateo County, were designated as proper depositories for the City's funds during the ensuing fiscal year. V� John Brackett conducting service station at the corner of James Street and the Highway asked permission to relocate his pumps on the highway side. Permission was granted,) on motion of Councilman McCarthy$ seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, provided that an ij agreement be entered into in writing with the owner of the property and lar. Brackett 1� with the City that there should be no expense to the City or district in case the Highway should be widened. i Mr. Otis H. Berthold, proprietor of the Berthold Chevrolet Company, asked permission to use the corner of Maple and Main Streets for display purposes stating that he was entering into negotiations and wished to have a tentative permit before any agreement was consummated. He was told informally that it would be all right provided the grounds were kept in proper condition. Mr. A. Raspadori appeared before the Council concerning a delinquent water bill and asked F that some adjustment be made because he was unable to run his business properly and at the same time did not feel he was responsible for the entire water bill. It was informally agreed that if he would pay one-half of the water bill that he could put up the necessary deposit and have a special water service in his own name. In connection with a letter to the City Manager from the Yacht Club concerning representation on their board of directors by a member of the Council, the City Manager was instructed s in replying to this letter to notify the secretary that if he would give Councilman Beeger notice of meetings that Councilman Beeger would be sure to attend. i On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Clerk was authorized to -write Lawrence A.
