MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 59 1931 <br />5:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beeger, <br />W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, C G Lambert, PA McCarthy. G W McNulty. City Clerk <br />B E Myers. <br />The minutes of meeting of September 21 were approved on motion of Councilman Dusel, <br />seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Mr. A.J. Stebenne appeared before the Council to ask that some adjustment be made con- <br />cerning the taxes and street work, delinquent and current, against the Manuel Vierra <br />property and asked that some reduction be made in order that the property could be <br />cleared of the obligations. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by <br />Councilman Lambert, it was agreed to allow a reduction of one-third# of the taxes <br />and penalties provided all obligations were paid in full, and the matter was referred <br />to the City Attorney to work out the details with the property owner and mortgagee. <br />Mr. Morton, representing Foster & Kleiser, asked permission to erect a twenty-five foot <br />sign on the county road between Broadway and Brewster. Permission was granted <br />revocable at any time, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Beeger. <br />Mr. M R. Helmer appeared before the Council to make a proposal to buy three tanks which are <br />now at the corporation yard. His dfer to pay $150 for these tanks and to take them <br />away within a wbek was accepted, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. <br />Mr. Helmer also submitted two petitionsrequesting the extension of Rogers Street from <br />Arguello to the Bayshore Highway. On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, the City Manager and Engineer were requested to make a tentative <br />report.concerning this subject at the next meeting. <br />G.L. Crown formerly of Bakersfield asked permission to build an auto camp and to have <br />certain rezoning done at property south of the Nipa Hut on the Highway. The matter <br />was referred to a committee of Councilmen Lambert, Dusel and Beeger to investigate <br />and report at the next meeting. <br />The application of Dowd Welch for plumbing license was granted provided proper bond was <br />furnished. <br />-The request of Rosa Cavalli for reduction in assessed value of improvements on property on <br />Middlefield Road was laid over to the next meeting with the request that the Building <br />Inspector investigate the condition of the buildings and report. <br />E.L. Lock, whose drug store is at the corner of Broadway and Middlefield Road, requested <br />that some arrangement be made by which there could be created a restricted parking <br />zone on Middlefield Road for the benefit of his customers who wish to drive in to <br />make purchases. The matter was referred to the City Manager. <br />Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Manager was authorized <br />to buy a new clock for the councilroom. <br />The City Manager was instructed to write a letter to former auditor, Lawrence A. DeRosa <br />concerning an adjustment in his claim for services. <br />
