<br />Redwood City, March 4th, 1929, 7.30 o'clock, P.M.
<br />Regular meeting of the City Council held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen, Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D. R.
<br />Stafford, G.W.McNulty, E.M.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Price.
<br />Minutes of regular meeting held February 18th, 1929, were read and on motion of Coun-
<br />cilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Thorning, same be approved as read. Motion carried.
<br />Application of the Southern Pacific Company and J.W.Poole for a permit to construct
<br />a spur track across Pennsylvania Avenue to connect his warehouse with the main line, was on
<br />motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn, said permit be granted with
<br />the understanding that the spur be buil4t to conform to the street grade. a7�P'0Said�spux, to
<br />follow said lines, "Biginning at a point in the center line of an existing S.P.Co track in
<br />Pennsylvania Ave distant northwesterly thereon 10 feet more or less from westerly line of
<br />Maple St, thence in a nortwesterly direction crossing Pennsylvania Ave, to a point on the
<br />northeasterly line thereof distant northwesterly 190 ft more or less from said westerly
<br />line of Maple Street. Motion carried.
<br />Applivation of W.'T.Sellogg to erect an oil service and parking on Lot 12, Villa Lots
<br />subdivision on the south side of Broadway was on motion of Councilman Stafford seconded by
<br />Councilman Dearborn, said application be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded the Supt of Streets be authorized to enlarge
<br />the culvert at Jackdon Ave and the Highway, Motion carried.
<br />Affidavit of Jas D. Hedge in the matter of Publishing notice to bidders for cast
<br />iron water pipe as follows 6000 feet of 6 inch, 2000 feet of 4 inch and necessary fittings
<br />was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty same be received and '
<br />filed. Motion carried.

<br />Moved by Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty the United States Cast Iron
<br />Pipe and Foundry Co, be awarded the contract for cast iron water pipe at the price named in
<br />unsuccessful
<br />thelr bid, and the certified checks be returned to bidders, Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Redwood City District Veal Estate Board asking the Council
<br />to refuse to allow future paving work within the City limits in which any patent process or
<br />patent materials are specified, was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Council-
<br />man Thorning be received and filed for future referrence, Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Redwood City District Real Estate Board in re&gds to the
<br />following suggestion That the Board of City Councilmen refrain from granting any more ser-
<br />vice station permits on Broadway between and including the corners of Walnut Street on the
<br />east and Arch Street on the West, was on motion of Councilman McNult, seconded by Council-
<br />man Dearborn, same be received and filed, Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty W.J.Dusel be given
<br />two
<br />permission to erect V small "For Sale sign" on the Highway at the go-xtbreorner of Hemlock
<br />corner
<br />street, and the east/RiAx of Laurel street • Motion carried.
