Representatives of the South Redwood district appeared before the Council in regards 49
<br />to the construction of a sidewalk along the Woodside Road from the Highway, to the Wash.
<br />ington School, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty, City
<br />Engineer Dimmitt, confer with County Engineer Geo A. Kneese in the matter arrange a meeting
<br />with the property owners and talk over the matter, Motion carried.
<br />Application of Mrs A.A.Peterson asking the Council to rezone from first to second Lots
<br />14,15,and 16, Block 3, in Central Park, cor Katherine and Grand Streets, was on motion of
<br />11 Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty said applivation be laid over until
<br />next meeting, Motion carried,
<br />Mie following dance permits were granted on motion of Councilman,Thorning, seconded by
<br />Councilman Stafford and carried. to -wit:
<br />Al Markgraft's Orchestra in Foresters Hall Wednesday evening March 6, 139 20, and 27,
<br />until 12 o'clock, also Saturday evenings March 2, g, 16, 23, and 30, 19299 until 1 o'clock.
<br />The Young Ladies and Young Mens Institutes in Foresters Hall on Friday March 15th,
<br />1929, until one o'clock.
<br />Communication from the Greater Redwood City Improvement Assn, in regards to the old
<br />name Grant Avenue still remains on the curbs on Poplar Avenue, was on motion of Councilman
<br />Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Stafford same be referred to Supt of Streets Dimmitt.
<br />Motion carried.
<br />iCommunication from the Southern Pacific Co, in answer to the request of the Council
<br />property
<br />under date of February 21st, to fill in the strip of sidewalk in front of theirn the -south -
<br />side of Broadway, stating the request would be investigated to determine best method of cor-
<br />recting the situation, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilmam Dearborn
<br />same be received and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Redwood City Promotion Assn hndargingsthe proposed plan to
<br />purchase the Central School Building on Broadway and remodeling it for a City Hall, was on
<br />motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Dearborn said communication be received
<br />and filed. Motinn carried.
<br />Communication from the South San Francisco Council asking the Council to be represe-
<br />nted at a futher date to discuss plans for uniform lighting system for the new Bay Shore High-
<br />way, was on motion by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dearborn, same be received
<br />and filed, and the Clerk be instructed to write and notify them that the Redwood City Council
<br />will be ready to cooperate with them when the time comes and the highway reached this part of
<br />the peninsula. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the City Council of San Carlos concerning the proposed bridge
<br />over Finder Creek between Redwood City and San Carlos, was on motion of Councilman Thorning,
<br />seconded by Councilman Dearborn said communication be referred to the Planning Commission.

<br />Application of A.T.Nielson, of Palo Alto, for a permit to install a gasoline ser-
<br />�) vice station on the Northeaslerly corner of Chestnut and Spring Streets, was on motion of
<br />Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford, said application be denied. Motion carried*
<br />and resolution
<br />Communication from the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce regarding greater co-oper-
<br />ation among the San Francisco Bay cities, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by,,
<br />Councilman Dearborn same be referred to the Rb:dwood City Chamber of Commerce. Motion carried.
