Councilman McNulty, offer6:t1fe,fo1lowing Resolution and moves its adoption, Councilman <br />Stafford seconds the motion, motion carri=ed. <br />VIBEREASr.a Board'of Freeholders is engaged in the <br />drafting of a new Charter to be proposed,to the electors of <br />Redwood City; and <br />YTtIEREAS, the duty devolves upon the Board of Trustees <br />or Council of Redwood City to put such new charter into effect, <br />1 <br />if it is approved by the electors and the legislature; and <br />i <br />WHEREAS, the electors of Redwood City are entitled <br />1, <br />to know in advance of the submission of such proposed new char- <br />ter the attitude of the present Board of Trustees and the mem- <br />hers thereof respecting whatever form of charter may be adopted <br />1 ' <br />by the Board�,of Freeholders and approved by"the electors,: <br />N07AI THEREFO.�E, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of <br />• F <br />t <br />Trustees and each memberl thereof heartily endorses the. pro- <br />posal <br />posal of a new charter.for Redwood City and pledges such,-Board <br />and each such member thereof to a cordial,. wholehearted and <br />cooperative acceptance of such new charter as may be approved <br />by the electors and of each and every part thereof, and as•Sures <br />the electorate that the Board of Trustees will do all in its <br />j power to carry out the true spirit of an improved city governs <br />-ment whether this ,requires the appointment of a thoroughly <br />capable city manager as,,administrative head of the city'or I <br />i <br />whatever may be appropr�ate to render such new charter effec- <br />tive in promoting better city government._. j <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the Town of Redwood City at a'regular meeting th- <br />ereof held on the 7th day of January, 1929, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing Resolution, Councilmen: <br />Thorning, Stafford, ...F.McNulty, Dearborn, Beeger. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing Resolution.
