G. Lambert, L. C. Christensen, <br />J. M. Eva, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, Geo. N. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: <br />K+ <br />Councilman E. A. Fletcher. <br />The minutes of the meeting of October 15, 19314, were approved on motion of Councilman Jones, <br />seconded by Councilman Eva. <br />Victor L. Doppee requested a refund of $25.00 of his plumber's license for the preceding year to <br />apply in payment of his license for the current year. It was decided that while the circum— <br />stances seemed to warrant reducing the amount paid by Mr. Doppee from $50.00 to $25.00 for <br />the current and ensuing year, it was not intended to be retroactive, and his request was <br />denied on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Jones. <br />A letter from C. G. Uhlenberg, Special Auditor, indicated that the quarterly check had been made <br />and that everything was satisfactory. The letter was ordered filed. <br />At this time there came up again the request from the California Municipal Utilities Association <br />for a contribution of $100 toward payment of certain services which the Association could <br />and would render to cities having public utilities. Councilman McCarthy proposed that the <br />City subscribe for this service and pay the $100 fee from the Nater Department. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Christensen and carried. <br />A letter was received from C. W. Bowman, Recording Secretary of the San Mateo County Federation <br />of Improvement Clubs and Associations in which he referred to his previous letter making <br />protest to the City about levying a special assessment to take care of 1915 Act delinquencies. <br />Letter ordered filed. <br />Mr. R. Buben requested permission of the Council to add to a building at 147 Avondale Avenue which <br />would in fact create out of it a dwelling, making two dwellings on the same lot. Permission <br />was granted on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />The City Attorney again brought up the question of the purchase of the Gillespie property on <br />Roosevelt Avenue explainitg the right—of-way across this property now held by the City and <br />County of San Francisco and inquiring what disposition should be made of the small lot with <br />V <br />
