0 <br />r <br />C <br />a house on it at the corner of the property. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded <br />by Councilman Eva, the Attorney was instructed to purchase this property excluding that <br />portion with the house on it, and that the Treasurer issue a warrant for the down payment <br />of $500. <br />The City Attorney presented for consideration and first reading an ordinance amending Gas <br />Appliance Ordinance No. 3146 in which is provided a license fee for gas fitters and gas <br />appliance dealers. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Christensen, <br />this ordinance was introduced. <br />The City Attorney reported briefly concerning the crossing hearing at San Carlos and indicated <br />that it was continued until November 27. <br />The Attorney also reported that the Lakeport Case would come up for hearing November 26 at Santa <br />Rosa (Sonoma County) and on motion of Councilman McCarthy, - seconded by Councilman Jones, <br />he was assured his expenses to the hearing would be paid by the City. <br />A request was presented from the Public Utilities Commission of the City and County of San <br />Francisco for approval of the laying of a 66 -inch main across several streets in Redwood <br />City. No action was taken upon the request, but the Manager and the City Engineer were <br />to have personal conference with Mr. L. W. Stockex of San Francisco. <br />Mayor Lambert explained to the Council that Mr. Peters, the special insurance agent handling <br />the policies for the City, stated there was considerable commission to be divided among <br />the insurance men of Redwood City. Mayor Lambert explained that he and former Mayor <br />Dusel had been a committee allocating this division. It was decided that Councilman <br />Fletcher serve with Mayor Lambert in place of Mr. Dusel. <br />Pertinent to the proposal made to. the San Mateo County Supervisors to form a City and County <br />government of San Mateo County, Mayor Lambert appointed Councilman McCarthy to meet with <br />the Supervisors when next this subject came before them for consideration. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Christensen. <br />Adjournment. <br />BE2:MR <br />i <br />i-&" <br />!.&" <br />City <br />ko-A <br />
