X100 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER lg, 1934 <br />Upon roll call, the following, Councilmen. -were present: -Mayor, C. G. Lambert, L. C. ,Christensen, <br />J. M. Eva, E: A. Fletcher, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. <br />NQyers. Absent: None. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 5, 19349 were approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />William Jamieson asked the Council if penalties on his taxes could be waived to make it easier <br />for him to make _payment,. but no action was taken. <br />Mrs. S. W. Scholte asked permission to erect a bakery on property on the Valota Road, and she <br />was referred to the Planning Commission. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded. by Councilman Jones, there was introduced an ordi— <br />nance granting permission to the City and County of San Francisco to -construct and maintain <br />water conduits across certain streets in Redwood City in connection with its Eetch—Eeteby <br />water supply project. <br />Councilman Jones offered for adoption resolution accepting a Quit Claim Deed from S. E. Frank & <br />Co., Mary W. Glennan, a widow, and Antonio Genochio and Carmelina Genochio, his wife, <br />granting a portion of Bradford Street from Walnut Street to the Bayshore Boulegard and <br />Maple Street from, the Pulgas Rancho line to the Bayshore Boulevard. Seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher and adopted unanimously. <br />Councilman Fletcher presented for adoption a resolution accepting a Deed from William Walter <br />Gillespie and Elizabeth Weir Egleston granting to the City of Redwood City title to the <br />property on Roosevelt Avenue, more particularly described as follows: <br />"All of Lot S of Wooster, Whitton and Montgomery Subdivision excepting <br />those portions heretofore conveyed by deed of Carrie E. Gillespie to City and <br />County of San Francisco.tl <br />Seconded by Councilman McNulty and unanimously carried. <br />,In connection with the proposed acquisition of the electrical utility part of the Pacific Gas <br />& Electric Company, Councilman Jones proposed and moved the adoption of a resolution ask— <br />ing for an evaluation of the property to be taken under the direction of the Railroad <br />Commission. The motion was seconded by Councilman McCarthy and put to a roll call, re— <br />sulting in the following vote: In favor of the motion, Councilmen Jones, McCarthy, <br />McNulty and Lambert. Against the motion, Councilmen Christensen, Eva and Fletcher. <br />The Clerk read a letter from Carolyn Clements of Burlingame protesting any addition to the build— <br />ing now erected on the rear portion of the Buben property on Avondale Avenue. <br />The Clerk read a letter from John Gill, Secretary of the Redwood City Planning Commission in <br />which the following recommendations were made: <br />(1) That stop signs be placed where Maple Avenue and Jefferson Avenue cross <br />Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />(2) That the permit granted to R. N. Buben for an addition to the building <br />on the back of his lot on Avondale Avenue be rescinded as a violation <br />of the ordinance. <br />C <br />
