The Clerk was instructed to
refer this matter to the City Planning Commission.
On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Eva, the Treasurer was instructed to pay
the current taxes on the Gillespie property recently purchased by the city for a park.
The City Manager explained about the present status of the lease on fire equipment from the
City of Berkeley, that it was decided by the City of Berkeley to increase the lease
charge from $1.00 to $50 a year. No definite action was taken, but Councilman McCartIT
agreed to see the City Attorney of Berkeley and later report to the City Manager and the
City Attorney. r
The City Engineer reported the result of the traffic sign survey, and recommended that signs
be installed as follows:
Jefferson Avenue at Pennsylvania Avenue, Maple Street at Pennsylvania
Avenue, and Brewster and Arguello Streets.
He also recommended that reflecting signs be installed on the north side of Harrison
Avenue facing Cleveland Street, atthe end of Harrison Avenue on the west side of Cleveland
Street and at the end of Fulton Street on the north side of Jefferson Avenue. Also that he
was planning to install an illuminated painted sign where Brewster Avenue leaves the Bayshore
Highway.
