Henry Witte, Chairman of the Redwood City Planning Commission, in a communication, indicated <br />that the Planning Commission desired that immediate action be taken regarding the viola- <br />tion of ordinance on the Buben property. Building Inspector, Drathman, also filed a <br />written history of the situation. In order to arrive at the exact legal status, the <br />matter was referred to the City Attorney. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Eva, the City Treasurer was instructed <br />to convey to the State Compensation Insurance Fund the fact that the City would insure <br />with them again this fiscal year. <br />In a communication, the City Manager recommended that there be included in the budget three <br />items which required immediate action. These three items were.taken up separately. On <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the City Manager was <br />authorized to proceed with the construction of a rest room at Hawes Park and also one <br />at Mazes Plaza. On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Eva, the <br />manager was authorized to make some addition to the garage at Fire House No. 2 so that <br />more space would be available for painting. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded <br />by Councilman MoNulty, it was decided to allow Chief Ryan to take over the "Marquette" <br />which has been used by the City Manager, and the City Manager to purchase a new light <br />car for his use. In addition to this, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by <br />Councilman Jones, it was left up to the City Manager and the Chief of Police to arrange <br />to turn in an old car on a new one, the selection of the make of car to be left to their <br />discretion. <br />L <br />E <br />George Allen, 321 East Brewster Avenue, protested to the Council on account of the distur- <br />bance and annoyance to him and to his wife because of noisy roosters in the adjacent <br />I� <br />lots. Mr. Allen was assured that the Councilmen would do what they could, and the matter <br />t, <br />was referred to the Health Officer. <br />I! <br />The City Manager made reply to the criticism which had been voiced at the previous meeting <br />concerning the Building Inspector and health Officer. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, <br />„ <br />seconded by Councilman Jones, it was decided that the Health Officer and the Chief of <br />i <br />? <br />Police should investigate the conditions and take whatever action was necessary to abate <br />i? <br />the nuisance, and, if thought best, to have the garage vacated. <br />Discussion in connection with the Hudson Street extension was put over until the next meeting. <br />`` <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Councilman Jones was given <br />' <br />permission to„leave the state. <br />ii <br />In connection with the 1915 Act situation and the agreement made by the City Attorney with <br />U� <br />Mr. Stewart of Stockton and Mr. Knapp of Oakland, the Treasurer was authorized, on <br />motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, to payMr. Stewart}s <br />;I <br />delinquent bonds amounting to $2,293.7+ - Mr- Knapp, $2,500 - First National Bank, <br />$2,500 - and Mr. Dean, $569.25. <br />i� <br />}` <br />Councilman McCarthy offered the following resolution and moved its adoption.
