<br />i The ninutes of the meeting of July 15, 1935, were approved on notion of Councilman McCarthy,
<br />seconded by Councilman McNulty.
<br />There was presented by Walter S. Sterling, 1125 King Street, Redwood City, a bill for damages to
<br />a Graham -Paige automobile resulting from a collision at the intersection of Hudson Street and
<br />Jefferaon.Avenue, April 18, with City Ford truck driven by George Hopkins. The bill was
<br />i referred to the City Attorney for attention.

<br />WHEREAS the Airline Bus Company has applied to the Railroad
<br />Commission_ of this State for a certificate of public convenience and
<br />necessity for the operation of a bus 'line between San Francisco and
<br />Los Angeles via Coalinga and Taft and passing// through Redwood City
<br />via Broadway and Middlefield Road, and '
<br />WHEREAS the granting of such a certificate by the Railroad
<br />Commission would afford an entirely new means of transportation be-
<br />tween Redwood City and other cities and towns in San Mateo County
<br />s.
<br />and the San Joaquin Valley towns of Coalinga, Taft and other cities
<br />an&^towns not now served by rail or bus transportation and would
<br />thereby tend to bring persons from said San Joaquin Valley towns to
<br />Redwood City and nearby places, and
<br />WHEREAS such competitive bus line will tend to improve
<br />service and decrease transportation charges in the carriage of
<br />passengers, express matter and newspapers,

<br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
<br />City of Redwood City endorse said application as comporting with
<br />greater public convenience and necessity; FURTHER RESOLVED that Paul

<br />A. McCarthy, a member of said City Council, be and he is hereby
<br />authorized to appear before the Railroad Commission of this State

<br />FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, certified
