In connection with the ordinance calling special election for refunding the 1915 Act Bonds, <br />the City Attorney told the Council it was necessary at this meeting to set the date. <br />September 24; 1935, was chosen, with Councilman Eva voting "No". <br />i <br />Ordinance calling for election, establishing voting places and election officers was intro- <br />duced, on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty. i <br />It was agreed informally to pay up to $250.00 toward the paving of alley at side of the new <br />Post Office. <br />Departmental Reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones. <br />On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, meeting adjourned to 9:30 A.M., <br />Monday, August 12, 1935 - <br />BEM: MIR <br />935• <br />BEM:MR <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 12, 1935 ` <br />9:30 A.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, C. G. Lambert, Councilmen E. A. <br />Fletcher, L. C. Christensen, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty. City Clerk, B. E. Myers. <br />Absent: Councilmen J. M. Eva and R. N. Jones. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Christensen, moved the adoption of Ordinance <br />No. 361, as below, calling a Special Election to be held on Tuesday, September 24, 1935• <br />Unanimously carried. <br />"AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF SAID CITY THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING <br />A BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL <br />IMPROVEMENT OF SAID CITY, TO WIT: A MUNICIPAL INVESTMENT BOND FUND TO BE USED FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF MUNICIPAL SECURITIES OR EVIDENCES OF DEBT EITHER OF SAID CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY OR OF BOROUGHS OR DISTRICTS THEREIN; INCLUDING MUNICIPAL BONDS OF SAID <br />CITY, BONDS OF BOROUGHS OR DISTRICTS THEREIN OR ANY BONDS OR LIENS ARISING OUT OF <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OR ACQUIRING OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS BY LOCAL ASSESSMENT WITHIN SAID <br />MUNICIPALITY; DECLARING THE AMOUNT OF PRINCIPAL OF SAID INDEBTEDNESS TO BE INCURRED <br />THEREFOR, AND THE MAXIMUM RATE OF INTEREST TO BE PAID THEREON; FIXING THE DATE OF <br />j <br />SAID ELECTION, THE MANNER OF HOLDING THE SAME, ESTABLISHING ELECTION PRECINCTS AND <br />POLLING PLACES FOR SAID ELECTION AND APPOINTING BOARDS OF ELECTION THEREFOR, AND <br />PROVIDING FOR NOTICE THEREOF. <br />-------------------- <br />4 <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City by resolution passed and <br />; <br />,adopted at a regular meeting of said Council on the 22nd day of July, 1935, by <br />affirmative vote of more than two-thirds of all of its members, did determine that <br />the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition of the municipal improvement <br />hereinafter mentioned and did further determine the cost of said proposed municipal <br />improvement will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and <br />revenue of said municipality, which resolution was duly entered on the minutes of <br />said meeting of said Council, and is now on file and of record in the City Clerk's <br />office of said city; now, therefore <br />
