N The City Manager filed formal resignation, effective December 1, and upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, his resignation was accepted and a vote of thanks from the Council members given him for his service. In connection with the selling or leasing of property in certain residential districts to orientals or negroes, on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the Uity Attorney was instructed to write a letter to real, estate, agents in Redwood City asking their cooperation toward eliminating this situation. Further discussion of the Buben matter was laid over until the next meeting. In a written communication the Chamber of Commerce asked the City to assume the res- ponsibility of decorating the streets for the Christmas Holidays. Chief Ryan, of the Fire Department, was asked to estimate the cost of stringing electric lights on the principal streets and also to find out what could be done for providing greens for the decorations. Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, proposed the adoption of the following resolution which was unanimously carried: RESOLVED. by. the- City Council: of the. A. Rolison, and for the interim, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, C. L. Dimmitt, City Engineer, was appointed Manager pro tem.
