However, due to one ambiguous statement, the Manager was
asked to get the approval of the General Petroleum Company to the omission of this
particular statement, and if so consented, the Mayor was authorized to sign the
statement. This on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty.
The City Attorney reported concerning his attendance at the hearing of the Railroad
Commission for the closing of Beech Street and told the Council that the matter
had not been decided and the affair continued until February 6, 1936.
On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Mrs. Cora Tucker, for the
Seventh Day Adventists, was given permission to head up a group of persons who were
to sell pop corn on the business streets of Redwood City for three days, to be
chosen by them; Councilman McCarthy voting sNos.
The City Manager spoke of wooden bridge work along the west side of E1 Camino Real in
front of private property which is used for business purposes as being defective
in several places and he thought some consideration should be given to it.
