<br />consulted as to the appropriate legal steps, and if an ordinance restricting the
<br />use of such lots is legal, to prepare an ordinance covering the regulation. The
<br />granting of a permit to George S. Paddleford, Inc. for the use of the northerly
<br />corner of James Street and E1 Camino Real was also laid over until the next meeting
<br />so that the Planning Commission may report thereon.
<br />As requested at a previous meeting, an ordinance was prepared covering the required use of
<br />the Typographical, Union label, but this matter was laid over until the next meeting.
<br />Representatives of the Shell Oil Company again appeared before the Council concerning the
<br />set back lines on Main Street at the corner of E1 Camino Real where the Shell Company
<br />has a service station. It was decided that recommendation concerning this matter
<br />should come from the Planning Commission and accordingly the matter was referred to it.
<br />Mayor McCarthy appointed on a new committee on the refinancing of the 1915 Act Bond Assess-
<br />ments composed of Councilman Eva, as Chairman, Councilmen Christensen and Hohn.
<br />Mr. H. H. Weiner asked about getting a lot on E1 Camino Real', between Brewster and Broadway,
<br />for "used cars sales and he was referred to.,the Planning Commission.
<br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and 'carried, the intro-
<br />duction at the meeting of April 29, 1936, of Ordinance calling a special election
<br />for submitting Municipal Harbor Bonds ($200,000) to the people, was rescinded.
<br />On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty, there was introduced
<br />Ordinance No. 375 calling a special election in the City of Redwood City for the
<br />purpose of submitting to the electors of said City the proposition of incurring a
<br />bonded indebtedness of said City for the acquisition of the following municipal im-
<br />provement of said City, to -wit: A Municipal Harbor; declaring the estimated cost
<br />of said municipal improvement, the amount of principal of said indebtedness to be
<br />incurred therefor, and the maximum rate of interest to be paid thereon;'fixing the
<br />date of said election, the manner of holding the same, establishing election precincts
<br />and polling places for said election and appointing Boards of Election therefor, and
<br />providing for notice thereof, (in the sum of $266,000 )
<br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Council adopted Ordinance
<br />No. 374, introduced April 29, 1936, calling for a special election in the City of
<br />Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California, for the purpose of submitting
<br />and submitting to the qualified voters of said City the proposition or proposal to
<br />amend Section 4, Section 26, Section 56 and Section 91 of the Charter of the City of
<br />Redwood City, and to amend said Charter by the addition thereto of the following
<br />numbered sections, to -wit: Section 47, Section 47a, Section 47b, Section 47c,
<br />Section 47d, Section 47e, Section 47f, Section 479r Section 47h, Section 49, Section 48a,

<br />Section 48b, Section 48c, Section 49d, Section 49e, Section 49f, Section Ogg, Section 49,
<br />Section 49a, Section 49b, Section 49c, Section 49d, Section 49e, Section 50, Section 50a,
<br />and Section 532, and consolidating said special election with a special election in
<br />said City of Redwood City for the purpose of submitting to the electors of said City of
<br />d Redwood City the proposition of incurring a bonded indebtedness of said City for the
<br />acquisition of the following municipal improvement of said City, to -wit: A Municipal
