<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
<br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br />JULY 20, 1936
<br />8:00 P.M.
<br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, Paul A. McCarthy, J. M.
<br />Eva, E. A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, G. W. McNulty and City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent:
<br />Councilman L. C. Christensen.
<br />The minutes of the meeting of July 6, 1936, were approved as mailed, on motion of Coun-
<br />oilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Hohn.
<br />On motion of Councilman, seconded by Councilman Hohn, it was decided to continue support
<br />of the California Municipal Utilities Association and the City Treasurer was in-
<br />structed to send the required fifty ($50) dollars.
<br />Councilman Fletcher and Mayor McCarthy reported their recommendation for the distribution
<br />of $201.18 remaining from insurance commissions in the office of Henry Witte. The
<br />recommendation was accepted and approved, on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by
<br />Councilman Hohn, the commission to go to Milton Marcus, Candevan & Iverson, Mrs.
<br />W. J. Dusel, W. L. Meusdorffer, C. G. Lambert, Chas. H. Holt, E. W. Magruder, Al
<br />Lascy, L. C. Rowen and San Mateo Realty Company.
<br />Councilman Fletcher submitted letter from A. T. Mercier, General Manager for the Southern
<br />Pacific Company, concerning relocation of freight house and passenger station, in
<br />which Mr. Mercier offered to send a representative to explain plans for the develop -
<br />went of the Company's property. The Clerk was instructed to ask Mr. Mercier to send
<br />this representative for'the evening of August 10th.
<br />After filing affidavit of publication, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Coun-
<br />cilman Eva, Ordinance No. 377, rezoning the west 73 feet of Lot 1, Block A, Wooster,
<br />Whitton & Montgomery Subdivision, was adopted unanimously. a%�A viEs
<br />After filing affidavit of publication, on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman
<br />Hohn, Ordinance No. 378, changing setback lines on Main Street, was unanimously
<br />adopted.
<br />On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, Ordinance No. 379, provid-
<br />ing for the issuance of Harbor Bonds, was unanimously adopted.
<br />Dance applications from J. W. Dean, Sodini's Tavern and H. J. Fitzgerald, were received
<br />pnd referred to Chief Collins. It was understood that hereafter all applications
<br />are to be referred directly to the Chief of Police and then come before the Council
<br />with his recommendations. The present applications were granted on motion of Coun-
<br />cilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hohn, with Councilman Jones voting °No°.
<br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Jones, it was decided to engage,
<br />at fifty ($50) dollars a day, the services of Carl A. Heinze, 1403 South Spring Street,
<br />Los Angeles, in connection with the evaluation proceedings for the acquisition of the
<br />P.G. &Z electric utility, and the Attorney was asked to frame the proper papers.
<br />Ordinance amending Pound Ordinance No. 307 was introduced on motion of Councilman Eva,
<br />seconded by Councilman Jones.
