Bertolucci 864 Main Street (Hotel de Redwood) <br />The City Manager asked authorization to make W.P.A, application to cover the work of paving <br />Hillview Avenue between Hopkins and Brewster Avenues, with the understanding that the <br />property owners would buy the material. <br />money had been paid in.` <br />He was told to go ahead as soon as the <br />The City Attorney advised that it was quite desirable to offer to the Railroad Commission, <br />as part of the City's testimony, a contract or agreement between the City and the <br />Pacific Gas & Electric Company, whereby the City would agree for a period of five <br />years to purchase from the Company all the electrical energy to be used by the City <br />or resold to others. Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed the <br />adoption of resolution authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into such <br />an agreement with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company. Unanimously carried: <br />Mrs. A. S. Kalenborn, representing the Library Board of Trustees, explained the need for <br />P <br />alteration and further equipment in the basement of the library and perhaps the pay- <br />ment of a part-time librarian in order to take care of the increased demand for service. <br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the City Manager was <br />authorized to include in the next year's budget for"the library an extra $2,000 for <br />this purpose. At the some time, the Council, on motion of Councilman.Eva, seconded <br />by Councilman Hohn, granted Mrs. Kalenborn a leave of absence and also permission to <br />leave the State. <br />The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Hohn. �0, 0 <br />Adjournment to Monday, August 10, at 10 o'clock a.m. <br />BEM: M& <br />C <br />dl.
