<br />that he prepare an extra copy for the Chief of Police.
<br />Mrs. Lillian Carroll, who operates the Sandwich Shop near the corner of Main Street and Middle -
<br />field Road, asked if her present license of $20 per year could be reduced as she considered
<br />it too high. No action was taken.
<br />J. J. Eshleman complained to the Council about the sale to a Filipino of Lot 17 and 18 in
<br />Block 7, Central Park, specifically, 519 Iris Street, by a local realtor. While it was
<br />felt that the Council had no legal right or authority to prohibit such a sale,.it was agreed
<br />with Mr. Eshleman that perhaps.it was not for the best interest of the people along that
<br />street to have such a sale made and the City Clerk was asked to write to the Real Estate
<br />Board to ask it to discipline the member who_had sold the lot. This, on motion of Councilman
<br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Eva.
<br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the Council offered a vote of
<br />thanks to former Mayor, C. Q. Lambert, and his committee, for their efforts in publicizing
<br />the special bond election of December 6.
<br />On motion of Counellman.Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, there was filed affidavit of
<br />publication of Ordinance No. 367 and Notice of Hearing. Following this, on motion.of
<br />Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Ordinance No. 367, establishing certain
<br />set back requirements on Arch, Birch, Clinton and Duane Streets, was unanimously adopted.
<br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, it was unanimously decided to
<br />amend the suggested port district to exclude Sections3, 10, 15, 16 and fractional sections
<br />21 and 22, all in Township 5 South, Range 3 West.
<br />Following this action on the port area, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman
<br />Fletcher, the City Attorney was directed to do whatever was necessary to start annexation
<br />proceedings to include the property involved.
<br />Councilman Fletcher reported that he had interviewed the High School Trustees and had been
<br />informed that an effort was being made to improve the grounds and that the Trustees were
<br />in accord with the Council's idea of making ,the campus mor& attractive.
<br />In connection with the question of soliciting or permitting bids for automobile insurance
<br />coverage, it was decided to continue with board companies and specifically in the same
<br />manner in which the insurance is being handled at present.

<br />The City Manager submitted a report concerning the proposed use of an increased proportion of
<br />San Francisco water, which report after discussion was ordered filed, and on motion of
<br />Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the Manager was authorized to proceed
<br />in accordance with his recommendation.
<br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the following 'wage scale was
<br />adopted applying particularly to the construction of a wharf and transit shed on Redwood
<br />Creek.
<br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that .in conformity
<br />with Chapter 397 of the Statutes of 1931 of the⢠State.of California,
<br />and other laws, that the minimum compensation to be paid for any skilled
<br />or unskilled labor for work provided.in the construction.of wharf and
<br />transit shed on Redwood City, San Mateo County, California, for the
<br />City of Redwood City shall be not less than specified as follows.,
