<br />The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight
<br />hours. The;hourly'wage::rate:prescribed.hereinabove is.the per diem rate divided by the
<br />aforementioned number of hours constituting a working day.
<br />For Pile Driving Engineers,and.Journeymen the above tabulation is based on a 40
<br />.hour week employment basis,.- For a 30. bourl week -employment basis. Pile Driver. Engineers shall
<br />be paict $1.50 per hour. and Pile Driver Journeymen shall be paid $1.33-1/3 per hour, with
<br />overtime as tabulated above.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council,oF the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting
<br />thereof, held on the 7th day of December, 1936, by unanimous vote.
<br />On motion of Councilman Pletcher, seconded by Councilman Eva, the Council passed the following
<br />'resolution adopting plans and specifications for the new commercial harbor:

<br />Constructing Wharf. and. Transit Shed.on Redwood:Creek.at Redwood City, San
<br />Mateo County.•,. Federal Works:Project 'No,. 1445-D, Public Works AdministrationPand
<br />"Plans for Wharf and Transit, -Shed No. 1, P.W.A. Project No. 1445-D", submitted,
<br />by the City Engineer to the•Council of said.city on the 7th day of December,
<br />1936, be- and..the.same are, hereby adopted as and for the Plans and Specifications
<br />for doing said work.
<br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the -City Clerk be and he i,&hereby authorized
<br />to publish notice inviting bids for said work according to said Plans and.•Specifi-
<br />cations Ancl.according to the notice to contractors set.forth therein. Said bids.
<br />to be delivered on or before 3:00 o'clock p.m. of January 4, 1937, at_the.office
<br />of the City'Manager in the'City Hall at.Redwood City, California, when said bids
<br />will be opened and the figures therein computed, and then be referred to the --
<br />City Council. at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on January 4, 1937, for action and acceptance
<br />thereof.
<br />Said bids shall, be advertised by the Clerk of the City of Redwood City for
<br />the length of time, An th& Redwood- City Tribune,. the .official newspaper of said
<br />city, as required by law and the Charter of said city.
<br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption of the following
<br />resolution authorizing the City Manager to take the necessary steps to exercise the
<br />options to purchase certain lands necessary for the harbor development. Unanimously
<br />carried.
