<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEEPING
<br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br />JANUARY 41 1937

<br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor Paul A. McCarthy, L. C. Christensen,
<br />J.'M. Eva, E.'A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, G. W. McNulty and City Clerk, B. E. Myers.
<br />Absent: None.
<br />The minutes of the meetings of December.14, December 21, December 23 and December 29, 1936,
<br />were approved, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty.
<br />Henry Beeger requested per;hission to erect a service station at the triangular corner of Main
<br />Street, Middlefield Road and Maple Street, and permission was given on motion of Councilman
<br />Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty.
<br />In a letter to the Council, Henry Witte asked whether the automobile insurance (Fire, Theft
<br />and Collision) expiring in January should be renewed in the Hartford Insurance Company,
<br />After discussion, principally led by Councilman Fletcher, it was decided on his motion,
<br />seconded by Councilman McNulty,to place this insurance in the Fireman's Fund Insurance
<br />Company, Mayor McCarthy voting °N0°.
<br />The City Manager reported on opening bids for the construction of Wharf and Transit Shed at the
<br />Harbor, ?.W.A. Project No. 1445-D, indicating that the Healy-Tibbitts Construction Company
<br />of San Francisco was the lowest bidder ($93,472.00). On motion of Councilman Fletcher,
<br />seconded by Councilman Hohn, it was decided to accept this bid and authorize the appro-
<br />priate officers of the City to enter into a contract with that company subject to the
<br />approval of P.W.A. Director:

<br />ITEM 1:
<br />(a) For creosoted piles, 35 ft. to 49 ft. long, driven in place, the sum of
<br />Fifty-five Cents ($0.55) per lineal foot of pile.
<br />(b) For creosoted piles, 50 ft. to 64 ft. long, driven in place, the sum of
<br />Sixty-five Cents ($0.65) per lineal foot of pile.
<br />(c) For creosoted piles, 65 ft. to 74 ft, long, driven in place, the Sam of
<br />Seventy-five Cents ($0.75) per lineal foot of pile.
<br />(d) For creosoted piles, 75 ft. to 100 ft, long, driven in place, the sum of
<br />One Dollar ($1.00) per lineal foot of pile.
<br />(e) For creosoted piles, 101 ft. to 120 ft. long, driven in place, the sum
<br />of One and ten one -hundredths Dollars ($1.10) per lineal foot of pile.
<br />Note: (Estimated quantities will include allowable cut-off on all piles.)
