Wyatt, Secretary -Manager• <br />i <br />n <br />Mr. Wyatt supplemented the letter by personal comment that a Pagent or celebration f <br />I <br />would not reach prospective users of the port, intimating that the proposed expendi- <br />ture of $2,700 for a Pageant might prove unprofitable. Councilman Eva, seconded <br />by Councilman Fletcher, proposed that the City contribute $1,000 toward the expense -F <br />of the Celebration provided there were satisfactory assurance that the balance of <br />the $2,700 would be raised. Carried. <br />Committee, consisting of Mayor McCarthy, E. B. Hinman, President of the Port Commission, <br />and City made report on acquisition•of Harbor Lands. The Committee <br />recommended that the.City Attorney be instructed to prepare and have executed leases, <br />as agreed with the property owners, as follows: <br />Lease, with option to buy at the stipulated price of $1,500 per acre, <br />for a term of ten years, provided that the City of Redwood Cityy <br />pay annually to said property owners an amount equal to four (4) <br />per cent of the agreed purchase price during the term of the <br />lease, and that the City pay the taxes on said property during <br />the term of the lease. <br />The following lands are involved: (The various acreages given herewith I� <br />are subject to corrections in that they include a 40 foot width <br />of Right-of-way which has been previously deeded to Southern <br />Pacific Company.) <br />Parcel D Lot 6 of Redwood City Harbor Company lands; owner, Valley <br />Coast and Warehouse Company and containing 10 Acres. <br />Parcel 2: Lots 7 and S of Redwood City Harbor Company Lands;.owner <br />Geo. A. Merrill (Bubblestone Company) and containing 42 acres. <br />Parcel :J: Lot 9 of Redwood City Harbor Company Lands; owner, James M. <br />Eva, and containing 3 acres. <br />Parcel 4: A tract of land to be described by courses and distances, <br />the detailed description thereof being omitted from the report, <br />adjoining and southerly of Lot 9 hereinabove mentioned; owner, <br />Redwood City Realty Company and containing 2-z acres. <br />Parcel 9: A tract of land to be described by courses and distances, <br />omitted from this report, adjoining and southerly of the herein- <br />above mentioned Parcel 4; owner, Beeger Tanning Company and <br />containing 2 acres. <br />Parcel 6. A tract of land to be described by courses and distances ' <br />omitted from this report, lying between Parcel 5 hereinabove <br />mentioned and the 31 Acre Yacht Harbor Parcel owned by the City; PPP <br />owner Redwood City Harbor Company, and containing 24 Acres. Na <br />�r <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the City Attorney <br />was instructed according to the recommendation of the Committee with the proviso that <br />the leases, if possible, contain clause permitting cancellation of lease on one year's <br />notice.
